Is Belichick still a great coach or did Belichick “ruin” Mac Jones?

As in everything in life, blame for one's failure rests on the individual, in this case Mac. Excuses are excuses but at the end success or failure rests with the individual. Mac had the "deer in headlight" stance, seemed to not know where hot reads were, made poor decisions, et. al, faults that have been rehashed ad nauseum on this forum. He knew what he was up against but for whatever reason didn't/couldn't overcome them. Mac needs to look in a mirror.

Did I say I was talking only about later in his career?

If you limit it first quarter of his starting career 2001-2006, it still is not true. What about first one-tenth of his starting career (2001-2003)? Nope, still not just a game manager. He showed up in the biggest moments. Do other "game managers" do that?

Guess pre-school might be more your thing. Might be time to take the L on this one. You could keep flogging the dead horse too....
Mahomes has a career low rating this year. Look at his receivers and skill players. Is there anyone saying he isn’t the same QB? Now let’s look at Brady’s playmakers pre-Moss. Hmmmm…

Did I say he was a game manager from 2001-2006? I would say he started to be elite around 2004.

And did I game manager beyond 2001?

I am glad the Brady cult comes out of the woodwork when someone doesn't admit that brady was the GOAT from the second he stepped on the field after the Mo Lewis hit on Bledsoe.

People were debating who should start in the Super Bowl against the Rams between Bledsoe or Brady that year. I thought it was a silly not to go back to Brady, but stop acting like everyone thought he was this great QB right off the bat.

I love Brady, but I don't look at him as some mythical figure like you guys do.

That’s reserved for Bill and Mac (up until this year when your sports talk radio heroes decided enough is enough.)

See this where I depart from the "reality and facts" people that have subscribed to the Brady wasn't Tom Brady until 2004 narrative. Brady was already elite through and through with his gut, his heart and his refuse to succumb to failure. You argue with, cold, devoid of context stats. What Brady's core was made of could not be measured. Brady looked at every play as a learning opportunity to get better. He went to the film room and clicked and clicked. He went to the practice field and practiced and practiced. Yes he went to his coaches and soaked up everything he he could. He studied and studied and studied his strengths and weakness. That's what made Brady elite. That's how I'd define elite anyway.

Brady had all the tools to be elite from day one. But doesn't make him elite from day one. What made Brady elite and the greatest of all time was that he was never satisfied with how good he was and constantly tried to be better. That is why he went from a good QB in 2001 to the GOAT probably around 2007.

Ice and I could have been posting this same **** 10 and 15 years ago and it would have been the normal response to Rob’s abject Manning fanboy stupidity.

Now they’re probably hot-takes because soyboy worms like Rob and all his idiot ****ing me-toos are in love with Mac Jones nut-slapping rival teams, then getting tossed around like a ***** without a single care coming from his offensive line, while legit sucking at actual football games.

At least Colt fans had Manning, an all time great. Now we’re here over Corky.

Welcome to the Twilight Zone, where the only thing that makes sense is how ****ing pathetic Rob and his **** takes are.

Dude. We gotta get together this weekend. Screw the smoothie. Let's just get together and shoot the crap. You and me. And we can just let the rest of the board be jealous of our bromance.

Rob should have been ****ing banned years ago. Maybe nobody could see it, like they couldn’t see Mac Jones sucks, but like they can see Mac Jones sucks now, they should also be able to see Rob should be exiled to a Steeler forum where he can talk about Spygate and gAmE mAnAgEr Tom.

Wow! You should ice and me in our little adventure this weekend. I would love to get a view of life from a 12 year old's perspective.

I’m not into fat trans guys, sorry

Wow. Youre so lofty. You don’t look up to a seven time Super Bowl champion at all. If you weren’t obviously a ****ing goblin IRL that might really be impressive.

I bet Brady would probably ask for your autograph, since you would be so noticeably above letting him give you his.

Everyone didn't but I saw the " it" in him even in trying camp when I first saw him play.

Read your post again. Maybe have someone read it to you if you can't. Let's break it down...

You: Brady was a game manager until 2004.

Me: You are full of ****. For proof just look at the clips posted. Game managers do not do what Brady did.

I think if Brady retired after the 2004 SB, he would be at least borderline HOF. Still a game manager per you...

And you wonder why people doubt you can add two single digit numbers accurately.

Clearly you don't, so enjoy yourself in your little ball of Bill hate.
Espn No GIF

There's 20 years of material out there where Tom talks about meetings with Bill on the daily. Go study the history of this team and their relationship.
I think his point is if Bill developed Brady then he should have no problem developing Mac and others into HF QBs.

The notion that a coach can develop a player, let alone a QB, into a HF player is absurd.

Imagine how quickly this forum would rise back to its former glory days if the ban hammer started dropping on these low IQ, Brady hating, fat **** miserable cretins who offer absolutely zero but **** football takes that get repeatedly proven wrong.

Steve is gone. He realized he’s too much of a pathetic lightweight forum “me too!” for what was about to happen.

Rob’s just used to being an idiot.

Eli Manning is going to get into the HOF. Of course Brady would have gotten into the HOF if he had three rings.

I should have said 2003 if I said 2004. But that isn't because Brady necessarily couldn't have done more. It was what the offense asked him to run. They ask him to win many games for them and let the defense shut down opposing offenses and asked Brady and company to be efficient.

And calling a game manager or a system QB isn't meant to be an insult. He was very good at running the offense from day one. He just was asked to let the defense win games. Unfortunately, that is how Belichick still looks at football. He wants his defenses to win games and the offense to be efficient and not make turnovers. It just doesn't work in 2023 anymore.

Everyone didn't but I saw the " it" in him even in trying camp when I first saw him play.

But having "it" doesn't mean you are elite right off the bat. Hell, Eddie Edendalman was talking about Brady having it in 2001. A lot of players have "it" and never reach the heights that Brady did.

You can't dismiss the unmeasurables. That's why he was more than other "good" quarterbacks. I remember Terry Bradshaw in 2003. He said "He's already in the Hall of fame. He just needs a career" It was always in him.

Nobody ever had it like Tom did.
