Game Day Thread 2023 OFFICIAL Week 13 Game Thread: NE (2-9) vs LAC (4-7)

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Lastly, we have never allowed promoting the use of any illegal streaming. This is illegal and will be enforced by copyright holders, which puts this site at risk. DO NOT POST ANY LINKS to those platforms.

This also means, there absolutely cannot be any mention these platforms, spaces, special characters, etc. - so do not get creative in trying to work around this request.

If you do you will have your account suspended.

I do not have the means to deal with legal issues and have already been contacted previously, so this absolutely needs to be adhered to. If you see any illegal links, please report them so a mod can remove them.

I hope this isn't a run and 20 screen passes kind of game, but I fear it. I'd rather they let him throw it a little and and be okay with a couple of pics.
I hope they move him around a little like they did against both Detroit and Cleveland. He doesn't have the arm to throw from the back of the pocket and was better when he moved around and created some throwing lanes. Seemed to have some success there.

Tank for Drake.

Also, change your name legally Drake. Horrendous.

Bryant is fine for it for the time being. He won’t make any flashy plays but he will catch the ball and do the right thing. Good enough.

Unemployment looms

Man...hasn't had much luck as of late. Sort of wondered how he'd be in bad weather and it looks like we'll certainly find out.

Don't say that too loud. @captain stone might lose his mind.

I just know, already know, that Parker is going to find a way to piss me off today. I can FEEL it.

He made sense to try out in NE - has the leg to cut through the elements, just needed to hone the accuracy. Unfortunately he has not really made much progress there. Doubly unfortunately, he was drafted a bit high for a kicker who would need a bit of work. It would’ve made more sense to wait on him, and if someone else drafted him, just keep Folk or look elsewhere. It is what it is, though.

I have always been a Bryant defender, he is a good player. The problem is he’s supposed to be your 5th CB/4th safety who has constantly been getting thrown into starting duty due to injury. He’s been the #2 CB for way too many games which makes him look terrible.

I get why they moved on from Folk ... obviously, he can't kick forever and people were annoyed with the short kicks last year, which were clearly a disaster in a few games. That's one of those things where it's never really the right time and it comes back to bite you if you guess wrong.

It's just too bad Ryland hasn't been the guy he was in college, because he was a pretty good kicker and even hit some big kicks in key moments. As you said, just hasn't translated here yet.

He's also an all-or-nothing guy. Either makes a nice play, or gets horribly burned. Poor guy can't catch a break.

He’s very smart and knows what to do, he just has low athleticism and can’t reliably make a play against guys who are much more gifted than him. So often times he is in position to make a play but gets burned because he just doesn’t have the juice. But that’s perfectly fine for a depth guy who plays mostly special times and can be counted on in an emergency. The issue is that “an emergency” has been “many games for 2 seasons and counting”
