They held a Giants and Colts team that lost their starting QB's to 10 points. The Giants also happen to be a bottom 3 team in the league and have been dreadful. That's not worth getting impressed over. The Jets, Raiders, Seahawks and Cowboys all held the Giants to 10 or less.
Competent offenses are still unfazed by the Pats defense. Only two QB’s were held under an 80 QB rating which were Zach Wilson and Gardner Minchew.

Of the teams that are. 500 and above, the lowest QB rating was 89. That was week 1. The good teams are averaging a total of 28 points per game to the Pats 17. They are 1-4 against these teams.

They are way overmatched.

Yup. The defense is overrated because they are good enough to feast on a couple of bad QB's and then we can all pretend it means something. They are a middle of the pack defense that gets burned by anyone good and can't shutdown dynamic plays but will keep a bad offense in check.

People bashing the defense after losing at the time their two best players at two crucial positions. SMH

The defense is good...but clearly not at Ravens, Niners or Chiefs level or even Dolphins level. Line backers are OK but do not possess great size to side quickness. Safeties are OK..
The talent on the Ravens defense (and offense) is impressive. For years now, the Ravens have been very aggressive in acquiring blue chip players.

The hate in this forum is strong for Belichick. I get it, he lost his fastball Are you telling me that over half the board is going to pretty much discredit everything he’s done here in the last 20+years and that every last bit of it was Brady or Lawrence Taylor with the Giants. This is the part that bothers me.

Again, I get it, the bad drafting has done the team in. It’s probably time to move on. Yes his decision to bench Butler probably cost the team a sb.

However, I think a lot of what the pitchfork crew doesn’t understand about the So called BB loyalists is he did a lot of good things here and gained loyalty for it. Yes, with Brady and yes he was a huge factor just like many other great coaches that benefited from great QBs.

His last real success was with Brady. In 2018 when they played the Rams and Our QB had a less than stellar game, the corners scheme helped a great deal in winning that game.

In the same year, although it took OT to beat the Chiefs and the 2nd half was a circus ride, the coaches did come up with a game plan that confused the hell out of Reid and Mahomes pretty much shutting them out in the first half.

All those Peyton forehead games?

We had the best Qb/coach combo of all time as far as I’m concerned. I refuse to hate on a guy that gave the team everything he could teach. After 2 a days were bargained out the best teacher no longer had the advantage with lesser talent.Guyslike Earthland Moreland and Randall Gay were made serviceable and just about every player knew the game plan for the week just incase a injury or they wanted to play 7 db’s.

Again, his time here is probably done, it is what it is. But it’s not like Bill is naive, he has been quoted in the past as saying “Players win Championships.” He knows this all too well.

28-3 ruined BBs sucession plan for QB. If BB is back next year, he'll get a redo with JG.
Please re-read what I wrote. If BB was planning to move on from Brady after the 2017 season, his critical error was signing Brady to an extension after SB49.

If Bill could occasionally ditch the smart ass routine with the media (who are trying to get answers for the fans), be honest, take accountability and not come across as an arrogant dic* then maybe he would see more glowing tributes on this forum. This year he has lied to the media, lied to the fans...for what reason? A competitive advantage? He lied about whether he had made a decision about the qb and about when he told the team.
He forgets that fans pay his salary and want to know what is happening with the team. Refusing to answer honestly is a slap in the face to all the paying customers. The lectures on the history of the long snapper have gotten old. Just honestly tell us who to expect will play QB and why...do not pretend like you do not know.
Yes he deserves major credit for a great run. He played a significant part in that, he will get into HOF and Pats HOF when he retires....but to many of us here he is not currently a beloved and trusted old friend who has lost his fastball.
He is a stubborn, arrogant, deceitful narcissistic, egotist who has destroyed the team and the organization over the past 5 years in pursuit of his self centered goal of topping Shula at the expense of building a winning team.
The good outweighs the bad but the bad has been very horrendous. It will take this team many years to recover from his hubris, poor judgment about roster management and inability to adapt to a changing league. Why shouldn't he take most of the blame??? he wanted complete control and he got it and he is paid an outrageous sum of money.
He has lost a lot of previously earned goodwill and deserves blame for the mess he has created and perpetuates.

why? the players are still playing hard. they have started playing better on offense minus the qbs. they don't seem to have tuned out their coach. in fact, vilma said during the game that peppers told them he has learned more about football in tne past 1.5 years than he has in the redt of his life. i do think if they keep bb he HAS to increase the size of his staff.
I had no idea that Bill had a lil ****.

I missed the draft. Is this true? If so, it's hilarious.

"Ryland’s struggles have to feel like a gut punch for the Patriots considering coach Bill Belichick traded up to get him in the fourth-round of the 2023 NFL draft, when the team already had Nick Folk on their roster.

To put this massive blunder into perspective, the Patriots drafted Ryland over Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua, who the Patriots had an eye on in the pre-draft process."

They also were mediocre to outright sucking from 2013 to 2021 sans 2019 and had decent draft picks but people have selective memory about other coaches and franchises around here

Looks and sounds resigned to the end.

Painful pressers I think they both deserve to play. Musical cheers at QB musical cheers @ LT.

Been saying this until I’m blue in the face:

The defense does not need an entire rebuild next year. Just a couple resources. There’s a lot to like on that side of the ball.

I get annoyed when people say this is due for an entire roster overhaul. It is on OFFENSE.
But we MUST move on from BB anybody but BB.

Special teams can use an upgrade too.

It's almost impossible to make judgments on any one phase of the game when 2 of the 3 are pathetic.

It's said BB is the master of confusing young QB's his Reach goes very far now he's confusing his own QB's. Talk about irony.

So Bill deserves loyalty now but Tom didn't? That's bass ackwards if Bill really believes that players win championships. Unfortunately, that comment that he makes regularly is nothing but lip service. His true feeling is that he can win with any QB but we're all finding out the hard way, him included, that it really is about the players.

If Bill is such a great teacher how come every QB we've had since Tom has blown chunks and Bill has had 4 losing seasons in 5 years without him and 4 out of 5 losing seasons in Cleveland before he arrived? That isn't hate, that's the reality of the situation. This team blows and he's the HC/GM. I'll give him the same respect that he gave Brady when he chased him away without any backup.

The amount of posters who feel Bill is somehow personally attacking them because of his press conferences is embarrassing. ?? ?? ??

For some reason I actually thought this thread was about the game and not the usual Bill bashing, though he deserves it. I watched the Pats and segments of some other games. These are some of my thoughts;

I was wondering if the NY fumble early in the game pissed off the Tankheads. I bet it did.

The Pats do have a kicker right?

The Pats game had all the signs of a 0-0 tie. I actually heard a handicapper on radio say that if the O/U was 13 he still might consider taking the under. It was close.

Tyquan Thornton is another a never ending line of WR busts.

The possibility is still there that Bill may be tanking.

When Mac threw another horrendous INT I bet the Tankheads were in their glory.

Maybe there is something to those running QBs. QBs seem to be running for the lives these days.

Speaking of that, where the heck was the call for an OOB hit on Herbert vs Baltimore? He was almost beyond the white sideline and was hit by a charging Ratbird with no call. That led to a bit of a shoving match and the ref called a penalty on the Bolts instead. That backed them up 15 yards and they had to settle for a FG.

I love the running game. Too bad it get's abandoned so much, even when it's been successful.

There was another 4th and stupid when the Jags got lucky on the last play of the first half with a run to the 2 yard line with 1 second left and the Jags holding a 6 point lead. Instead of making it a 9 point lead at the half they went for it and were stopped. That gave Houston a lot of momentum and also came into play later in the game.

I read a post here somewhere claiming that Pitt WR Pickens is a headcase. So what? He looks real good on the field.

Now I see why Josh got rid of Derek Carr and tried to replace him with JG. Derek Carr sucks.

I can't believe that Daboll and Belichick are the same age. Bill looks more like his father.

Oh hey, the Pats do have a kicker after all. Well, technically he's a FG kicker but he comes across more as a FG misser. And boy I bet the Tankheads were giddy with joy over that miss. Losers rejoice.

Personally attacking fans? Holy **** that's stupid. Nobody said that so I can only guess that it's bouncing around in your head. Talk about embarrassing.

The guy is being paid to build us a team and is failing miserably. And you don't think he owes the fans any more than a few grunts and snorts? I guarantee you that you'd feel a hell of a lot different if you were trying to make a living interviewing him, at a fraction of what Bill makes btw, and had to put up with the nonsense he puts the media through.
