Brady was way more gracious about how things went down than I think Belichick would be and me too if in that position to be honest. Most people probably would be more vindictive about it.To me Bill is the type of guy who would absolutely love to stick it to Kraft if he got fired and rush to a team like the Chargers and win there to make Kraft look like he made a mistake.
One of Bill's sock puppets at least suggested Bill could go elsewhere.
Who knows, maybe give the interim coach (Mayo?) a chance to demonstrate if he can turn the locker room around. It's happened with other teams before.I have been ready to move on from Belichick for several years but firing him mid season should never be on the table and I don't believe it is.
First, whatever you think of him he has won 6 SBs and there is a level of respect that is owed to that. I am not one of those who believe he gets to coach for as long as he wants as a result of that as that is dumb. However firing him mid season is the other extreme of that and not acceptable.
Second, what's the point of firing him before season's end? The season is toast so I don't see any upside to it. Also , he has 2 kids on staff (another thing I never liked) so you will be firing minimum 3 coaches.
Third, if the plan is to make Mayo the coach now and long term, you would be putting him in a very awkward and toxic position as some would be putting a part of the firing blame on him.
Personally.. I don't see another win this season unless a team lays down for us like the bills did... Washington was clearly tanking and STILL couldn't beat them. I think thier is something to the reports.. everyone can't be wrong!
It's more than 1 guy.. laconfora, breer, riess, Curran, perry, all have reported similar things.. me personally I don't see a figure as important as BB to be fired... but hey NFL... anything can happen..it's not everyone.....it's one guy
Whether we wish it or not, BB is close to the end of his time here. He's 71 and isn't going to coach another 5-10 years. Hell, he probably won't coach another 3.Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it.
I highly doubt he'd remain as HC.. especially after having so much power and control..If Belichick steps down as GM and remains head coach and they give the GM job to someone in the organization, Belichick is still the GM just not in name. Same if they bring in someone who used to work with Bill like Lombardi or Pioli or Ziegler.

Where his greatness began..Giants
I thought Pioli might be a good candidate but you’re probably right…just a puppet. If Belichick steps down as GM and remains head coach and they give the GM job to someone in the organization, Belichick is still the GM just not in name. A sports guy from the Washington Post was on the radio yesterday and he was confident that BB would not be back in NE next season.Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it.
