I’ve said all year, the problem is that Mac Jones doesn’t process what he sees ON TIME. Inaccuracy aside, he throws a lot of passes at the wrong time and/or to the wrong guy.

In a nutshell Mac throws late.

That's ^ called bias, an agenda... it does't help or point to the real problem, it's self serving... but you do you.

I was a Mac guy exiting college, I thought he had tools to work with. I have no problem admitting I was wrong. You... not so much.

Oh so u admit you were a Mac guy.. as far as BB the writing is on the wall.. I personally don't want BB the COACH gone but hey I'm just a fan I'm not ownership. Just like they made the decision on Mac they will make the decision on BB. And ok that's great you put up low lights. However I've got a 9 game sample of low lights on Mac.. I'm not here saying he's not the problem. But he's a problem on a team with lots of them.

Sometimes a simple change in the manner in which a matter is discussed tidies things up wonderfully. The discussion here of Bill requires only reasonable attention to tense. Watch:


1) Bill was a great coach for many years, a thing worthy of celebration and admiration.

2) Bill is a failing head coach and a failed GM, facts worthy of his being relieved of his GM job and afforded at most one more year to show what he can do as HC once he is relieved of the burdens of being GM. That is the best the team can offer in the circumstances. I fully understand this is an offer Bill is likely to decline: so it goes. We must be prepared to move on, an approach, it must be said, which offers, as any clean sweep does, very significant advantages over retaining Bill in any capacity.

Criticizing things the coach does once in a while just like any fan of any team is "hating Bill". Ok

I said the QB isn't very good and somehow you turned that into me trying to argue Mac doesn't suck. Weird.

Exactly! People forget BB asked for the dual role of HC/GM.. so he is in direct control of roster decisions including Mac.. so we will critique him as the HC and GM just as we critique Mac.

In a nutshell Mac throws late.

No He sees, reads and reacts late. That means he does throw to guys who are open because he is acting too slowly and other times he throws to the open guy when the window is closed or closing.
I don’t know if he is slow reading it it indecisive pulling the trigger. But you can see it in some of the throws he makes. The reads is right but the timing is wrong.

At 10:30 on 3rd and 6 Mac, in maybe the most egregious miss of the day, has multiple options to miss and does. Rhamondre running a wheel route out of the back field is wide open 20 yards downfield, Mac throws another Mac molasses ball special that takes forever to get there and underthrows Rham by a lot. This play is doubly bad because he also has Juju running free on a drag route route with a blocker in front of him ten yards away. But it's not Mac...

i'll just start with this one......two rushers bearing down, from around his left and up the middle, he could not step into this one

Rham thought it was an easy catch and was waiting with basket arms at his waist......if he high points that ball he might give up some YAC, but makes a huge chunk play.....instead he coasts and watches the defender instead make a great play

there's very few QBs i the league who can drill that throw off their back foot......and off the back foot was necessitated by the rush.....Rham has to finish that play and he did not

You defending the weapons is embarrassing. I guess it’s Mac’s fault Thornton can’t run a proper route, or that his trash receivers can’t catch. Douglas might be the only guy they have who can beat man coverage. Mac isn’t good enough to make the talent around him better, but he’s certainly not the biggest issue.

Thornton is another trash fire of a BB pick at WR. His routes are garbage with plenty of wasted motion that negates his speed.

But I distinctly remember Thornton running a downfield route where he was wide open by several steps but Mac Jones flat out missed him by a mile with the throw.

So yes, Thornton is trash, but the QB is even worse trash because the whole offense relies on him to deliver the balls!

Honesty is cool for a bit but after a while it becomes tiresome, and annoying.
To take a page out of my wife's book when i make excuses for something I promised time and time again.
"I dont want to hear it, just get the sh*t done !!"
Thats how I feel when Mac stands up there every week about how and says he needs to do better. It just gets old. Better he just says I need to look at the tape, and then do something about it.

I get this completely. It's beginning to sound a little rote, weirdly scripted or something. I think the guy is really shot at this point. Imagine having a single dream in life - becoming a starting NFL qb - then running into the past couple years' ****show. That'll screw you up. I feel sorry for Mac, which I guess makes it hard for me to join in criticizing him beyond a certain point. It feels like kicking a guy when he's down.
