Polamalu Not Expected To Play, So That Means...

Don't get me wrong, fortunately for us Steelers defensive coordinator **** Le Beau is a genius, one of the true innovators in league history, and he'll have a scheme prepared for our defense that will at least mitigate what is for us a terrible mismatch.

But you can't polish a turd, and if Brady is able to get the football off without our LBs and DLs taking him down or at least disrupting his passing lanes, we're totally ****ed, because our secondary cannot hang with New England's receivers the way Philly's and B-More's secondaries could.

Since Rod Woodson left Pittsburgh, really, it hasn't exactly been an a secret around the league that you can't beat Pittsburgh by running the football, you beat Pittsburgh by throwing. Early and often. New England just happens to have had a throwing offense since the advent of Brady in 2001, which is why we usually match up poorly with the Pats.

On offense (for us, I mean), I'm sure Belichek has the Steelers-Jets game on a permanent loop and will attempt to test the right side of our OL, which is weak, and attach a spy to Ben the way Mangini did, as described in this article:

http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2007/11/bowens_a_clever_spy.html

QBs have tendencies, and just as Brady likes to step up into the pocket and throw, Ben loves to roll out and throw, usually to one side. I can see New England double-rushing Thomas behind Wilfork through the gap between our RG and Center, forcing Ben to roll out and sticking someone on him -- Seymour or Harrison -- and doing what the Jets did: force him to make a bad throw or take him down. Of course, Ben is really hard to take down, but when he's fighting off tacklers he has less attention to pay to open receivers.

And, unfortunately again for us, Bruce Arians, our offensive coordinator, is a total ******* idiot, and will be hard-pressed to adjust to Belichik's schemes. Belichick is playing chess, while Bruce is playing checkers.

Wow this **** Lebeau guy sounds great! Is this the Pats first time facing him? What is our recent record against him?

This thread is awesome. Preemptive excuse making.
Here's another one. The hotel served Hunt's ketchup instead of Heinz as required in the 18 page memorandum.............

Not a very charitable view...**** LeBeau is a truly innovative coordinator, as our Steely visitor mentioned. This will be the third week in a row that the Pats have faced an outstanding defensive mind blessed with a physical team. Let's hope the team has been pacing themselves a bit.

Still can't understand why any of the national prognosticators thought this three-game stretch would be anything other than hellish. Regardless of the Eagles and Ravens records, they have two qualities that can make all the difference on a Sunday: talented coaches and proud, physical teams. Their QB play has cost them wins, but to think that such a team cannot wake up for any given weekend is crazy.

...that even if the Steelers lose (which they won't), it will be somewhat of a hollow victory for the Pats, because we won't have our best defender out there.

I mean, I'm still predicting the Steelers to win, but if we lose, it will be because we don't have Polamalu in there.

One of your own media members was on EEI this morning saying he has flat out sucked balls this year anyway.

PS - We're missing Colvin & Sammy Morris, for the year, you don't hear us making excuses.

This may sound like blasphemy to Steelers fans, but I think Troy Palumalu is over-rated. He over pursues to the detriment of his team. I've yet to see NE have a problem comtaining him. Yes, I've heard that he has matured - but I've seen two Pitt games this year and I didn't see it.

How would it be a "hollow" victory?

The Steelers arn't even the second best team in the league...

As I recall they even lost to the S-U-C-K-S SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS and only beat the worst team in the league by a late field goal.

It's always hollow when another team wins.

It's always glory when your team wins.

Come up with something new.

BTW: Just so everyone is aware, Polamalu is not practicing but IS expected to play.

Funny, I thought James Harrison was the Steelers' best defender this year. Besides, if a team loses because of missing one player, they are not a good team.
