Patriots Pregame Thread Week 9 discussion: Commanders @ Pats

Pats are -2.5 favorites at home to Washington. Sounds about right at the moment but I wouldn't bet anything until after Tuesday this could change if the Commanders unload their defensive players.

That's going to change pretty drastically now that the Commanders have gashed their Defense by trading two of their best players.

And we have no WRs so guess it evens out.

Did i miss where Douglas and Reagor are gone? We have 2 Unknowns in Boutte and Thornton. It would be nice if Smith-Schuster strapped on a set and pushed these guys to excel.

Allow me to retort.

The Pats can lose to Was just as easily as win
An overall mid-team is better than a bottom feeder
Giants have one of Bill's proteges as the HC. That's a possible loss
Steelers lost their QB so that could be a win
KC's as weak as they've been in a while. Too bad the Pats are in a down year... again.
The odds say they lose the Buf & Jets games but they could win one

Pats finish 4-13 and Bill inches closer to passing Shula* for most wins by a HC. At the current rate he should get there some time during the 2026 season. That should be fun.

I wish I had yours and R12's confidence. I've been trying to be positive about Jones but he doesn't look like he's close to a pro QB and I don't see much of an upside. I'd be very surprised if he led this offense to a 7-2 record to finish the season.

Basically, the defense has saved the Pats from being 0-8.

Our defense would have to be lights out. Fortunately the only above average qb we face in the next 5 is herbert who bb has owned to this point.

It’s reasonable. They have to improve to do it and be consistent but none of those games are a huge stretch
