Tyquan Thornton Having a Tough Camp

if he loafs and doesn’t do what he’s supposed to do so doesn’t do his job
then backs it up by screwing up and doing the wrong thing so again not doing his job,
just what do you think a coach could and should do?

only thing I can see is sit him on the damn bench.

what’s your alternative?
Loafing isn't on Troy Brown but one could make the argument him running the wrong route is on coaching. Either way Thornton looks like yet another bust and there really is no alternative. He will probably be active this week but solely out of us necessity. If he isn't active then they might as well cut him and move on.

or maybe trade him

If he isn't in the plans, which looks to be the case, then why not get a late round pick in return?
nobody is giving up a pick for a fragile speedster that is a healthy scratch on the worst offense in the league every week.

this is just such a disappointing result for this player, especially after the NKeal Harry disaster. Thornton was supposed to open up the middle of the field with his speed. If he was just rookie Tony Simmons-level effective we could be happy. For reference and for those band waggoneers who don't know Tony Simmons - second rd pick in 98 that was supposed to "take the top off" for Bledsoe in Ernie Zampese's burgeoning (which unfortunately never came to fruition) Air Coryell-type Pats offense. Simmons did catch 23 passes and average over 20 yards/reception. Thornton averaged 12 yards/ receptions his rookie year, kinda sad for a speed guy.

You should work for the suicide hotline damn.

it is hard to imagine that he is worse than JSS or Parker

I remember Simmons would show some promise blowing past DB's and catching a deep pass, but then disappear or drop a pass like the one that ended a drive at home against the Jets in 1999.
Worse than that: It's Cunnyham over Golden Tate.
I liked Golden Tate and thought that it was a foregone conclusion that he was going to be a Patriot given the Weiss connection, but I would've gone with Dunlap. The Pats DL was in desperate need of help. This was already Bill's best draft, but swap Tate or Dunlap with Cunningham and that would've been insane.

Maybe someone liked him in the draft and thinks they can salvage him. Either way it is some sort of late round conditional pick if we get anything for him.

We win the 2010 AFCC, the 2011 SB, and the 2012 AFCC with Golden Tate.

I tell ya, GM Bill is getting to be quite the magician - who can turn a 2nd round pick into a 7th round pick faster than him?!

He did it with Duke Dawson; so who's to say he can't wave that wand one more time...?

I do not see Thornton as a future Patriot ...
Maybe not even any NFL career to speak of ... made of glass.
