I believe that a team can trade for a player who is injured.

My guess is he isn’t injured and they are just working out the details.

Uche is a bit of a one trick pony, but many teams place a lot of value on that one trick. Bill does not place as much value on it. I think he can net a decent pick or player swap. I like the guy but wouldn’t be too depressed to lose him, felt like a longshot that he’d return in 2024. Other bigger free agent priorities.

It makes good sense that Uche is someone to move if the price is right. The team should look for a player who can add value this year and be part of the team next year instead of a draft choice. After last year and the rough start this year the team needs to start building an identity now to return to being competitive next year. Tanking will mean really starting over from scratch next year and another 3 years of meh because everyone is new and no one has an established role.
