Kayshon Boutte

Lazar was saying last week that Thornton was half assing it on a fly route that was supposed to clear out an out route underneath for Bourne and since Tyquan was jogging it out the corner was still in the area and broke up the play to Bourne. If he can't even act as a decoy then that is saying something.

Definitely a case where less is more - 4.28 speed sure looks good on paper but 1 catch per game average sure doesn’t….

The pats are rotating in reagor & parker at X WR. Boutte should get another opportunity considering what is front of him. It would be huge if they can hit on WR2 & WR3 in the same draft.

Again, I'm going to say it: we're not throwing downfield. Parker got no targets. Thornton got few snaps.

So...all this about an X receiver seems totally moot at the moment.

Thornton broke wide open several times last game. 2 for a TD. We can't seem to throw downfield.

What I think is a problem is that we have a guy who runs the 40 in 4.28 seconds and in 7 games so far he has 2 catches for 8 yards. Sounds like he’s not making it downfield or at least catching anything downfield. These stats are similar to last year as well meaning he’s 1) been injured quite a bit, 2) he’s not getting open, and 3) sure would have been nice drafting George Pickens instead….
I'm watching him. He is breaking open downfield.

He is wide open.

A couple plays I could mention: the Amik Robertson hold that came on a key 3rd down. Go watch it again: Tyquan broke open all al;one for a TD.

The long throw out of bounds, Tyquan again blew by his man.

It's NOT that Tyquan isn't open downfield. Something is being missed; either on the coaches or on Mac.

Douglas can't get burried in the depth chart. He might actually already be our 2nd best WR overall.

Parker is full of himself and full of excuses.
Raegor caught his only ball, an inside post at 10, unmarked, while jumping a bit and with his body. This guy has no mechanics, it's all about phisical attributes
Thornton is in limbo. Our offense is just not ready to include a vertical guy right now and he has not developed as more complete player, appereantly

I will understand Boutte being out until we are 100% out of the POff race. After that, if I see Parker and Raegor playing, I will join in the chorus

Both don't trust the OL to hold that long consistently, so they don't bother with a long-developing route. Also for Mac to go there, he needs to be fully commited to throw, as he is not slinging it 40 yards downfield with ease

Maybe they want quicker / higher percentage passes to short and midfield…IDK.

Hmmmmm maybe he's doesn't like being a decoy. Would love for them to make Mac just sling it we have nothing to lose now. We can play aggressive now. Bourne is having a good year.

We can't throw downfield because: the offensive line isn't good and can't protect long enough. Mac isn't good and gets happy feet. Thornton isn't good and can't get open.

Are people fully confident that Tyquan on another team doesn't become at least a #2 receiver? I know I'm not.

This isn't a Harry type situation yet. He had Brady as a QB. The reality was immediately known

I knew he was going to be an Impact player what might have been. Thornton was taken Two picks before smh.

Well Parker is Big for nothing.

Michael Onwenu changes that going forward.

It suits Mac's game more so than down field throws or throws that require zip.

Even that quick out throw to Douglas at the end of the game took forever to get to him.

The thing with Pop Douglas and his Elite separation Mac won't get in trouble..but he will Parker: Mac don't throw to him!

If he won’t do his job don’t put him on the field.

it’s that simple.

Really hope Thornton is more than a one trick pony.

I would've loved to see what Marcus Jones would be able to do out there next to Demario Douglas. Having either one go in motion and run a wheel route while the other trailed him into the flat would be mind boggling for any defense.

Thornton is doing his job. He looks good out there. The decision to go short all game was deliberate because of the wind
You surmised he "looks good" and is "doing his job" based on all 3 snaps he got?

@upstater is Marcus coming back this year??
