Mac and the "It Factor"

I can picture Mac in a Colts uniform.
Let’s make it happen

for the first time ever id be on board with tanking for a top pick

i think we have a better chance of not winning any games with the midget Zappe, so make it happen BB

I don't think we have to worry about tanking. Just keep playing Mac and bad/good things will fall in place. At this pace we won't win another game. Mac needs to be sat down. He makes a mistake and the team quits. Injuries depleting the defense and OL. Do not despair. We (at least I) have been through this before and survived. It's only a game. Enjoy the angst. Enjoy the vent. Yell out loud. Feel better.

Mac is still best equipped to conduct this atrocious offense, so higher likelihood he would pull it together for a handful of games and get some Wins.. but i think a handful of wins will actually only hurt this team now, because they definitely aren't going to the playoffs or competing for a division title unless all the other teams suffer a deluge of catastrophic injuries, and even still it probably wouldn't matter... so a few extra wins would just hurt our draft position, and at this point I'd even be for trading up into one of the top picks for a QB or even a dominant OT

LOL. Felger really thinks they didn’t know what Stidham was? Like the coaches don’t see him practice? Come on. What did he need to play for? And did he earn another chance? No.

I get the sentiment that Mac needs to sit but only if there’s an alternative that can or might take the team forward so they get something out of this season. They don’t have one on the roster. Zappe? The same guy completing less than 40% of his passes and 4.4 YPA in garbage time when the other team has called off the dogs and stopped trying? Nah he ain’t it. Grier or Cunningham? I’m willing to give them a shot in a lost season if they decide to sit Mac.

For the Umpteenth time:

Stiddy Should've Played in 2020 as soon it became obvious that post-covid Cant Newton was trash and we weren't going Anywhere that season.

Another loss or two and we could've taken Fields without ever having to trade-up... Which is what I wanted all along once Trevor Lawrence became unobtainable.

This. I don't know why Bill didn't let Stidham down the stretch when it was clear the season was over. I still believe there was some wink, nod deal he made with Cam that if Cam was healthy he would start. There is no other reason for it unless Stidham going to a wedding that summer truly pissed Bill off that much. Was Stidham going to be the guy? No, highly likely he wasn't but why not see if he could be a number 2? Worse case scenario he can't play and they improve their draft pick. That 2020 season was such a missed opportunity in so many ways.

I have seen zero from Mac that he can pull anything together. Great Qb's make players better, he is making players worse.

Man... HoF Pats CB is brutal here:

Of course he doesn't give off a leadership vibe. It is the same inherent character flaw that pumps the brakes on the If Mac Had Purdy's Or Tagovailoa's Teammates argument... Would he be producing more if he did? Obviously; just not as much as the other 2 IMO. For starters, he has the Weakest arm of the 3; is that even debatable any longer?

Bump.

That last drive was the first evidence of his "it factor" that we've seen in his career. Or was it a fluke? Let's see what happens in Miami. Pats struggle there.

I was fully prepared for a game ending pick or strip sack so I was pleasantly surprised but honestly I think that drive is an anomaly.

I was prepared for that too. I hate that I cringe every time he takes a snap thinking something bad is going to happen. Gonna take me a while to break that habit but that's up to him.

Glad he got that one out of the way and we witnessed it can't wait for his next one.

It's been noted Mac just needs guys who can get open and make plays Pop Douglas - Henry - Bourne - Gesicki and Pharaoh Brown. Now Thornton needs to step up Juju needs to go on IR and Parker Benched!

Well. There was the near strip, didn't think he handled that play very well. And earlier there was one instance in which he literally just ducked and panicked while every rusher had been fantastically picked up.

And that's it off the top of my head. It's quite great to recall only two plays as cringe worthy. Plenty of good ones in the balance too. Had never seen him play like this, not just stats but really playing the position.
