Belichick’s Trade Value.

I'd ignore this thread but it's got to be one of the most ridiculous threads ever created in PatFans.com's long history (and that's saying something).
If this thread's so bad then why are you here?
I can’t speak for Arch but I can tell you why I’m here. Three reasons.

1. I need something to go with my popcorn.
2. I want to see who’s being stupid and just how ridiculous they can get.
3. I like watching train wrecks.

So far on #2 the clear leader is the OP, the guy with the golden crowned purple wraith as his avatar (btw is that supposed to be sone rendition of the Nazgûl?). He has multiple posts that reach or surpass the tenth level of Dante’s fiery nightmare.

LA just called. There's an open intern spot. They offered us a conditional 7th rounder and a bag o' balls for Bill.

His trade value is going up as a vulture capitalist who can strip the company of its assets before bailing.

Some sucker desperate team will take him but he could easily retire doubt he needs the money.

If Belichick traded Belichick yesterday, Belichick would be getting praised as the genius GOAT Belichick who fleeced Belichick for a 1st round pick Seattle Seahawks style.

if bill goes to a team with a good qb and a decent team....i can see him win the SB
As long as he isn't drafting WRs and QBs for that said team.

Nobody is trading for someone they can get for free in the off season.

I'm not hiring Bill if i'm rebuilding or starting a program i'm the Chargers i would hire Bill as a head coach all day if he leaves the OC and GM in place and just fixes the defense.

Whether or not they can ‘get him for free’ depends on his contract. If he’s even locked in for another year, he’s tradable if a team wants exclusive bargaining rights.

That’s an added perk, to it, though, is that it allows Belichick to make NFL history again instead of an unceremonious parting of the ways. We get draft capital for even 3 years down the road when he won’t be coaching anymore, and he gets a built-team with a quarterback.
The NFL doesn't allow picks that don't yet "exist" to be traded; no team can do a Jrue-like trade, for example, offering a 2029 pick. IIRC, the only picks that exist for trading purposes as of today are 2024 and 2025 picks, and the 2026 picks won't exist until the 2024 draft starts.

Trading a coach is not like trading a player. The coach has to be on board with the situation and already have a deal in place with the new team. So basically you would need to give other teams permission to talk to Belichick, hope a match is made, then work out trade compensation. (And technically it is not considered a trade as much as it is one team paying compensation to another)

But you cannot trade a coach who doesn't want to be traded. You can fire him, sure, but you can't trade him.
GM Bill: "Bill, I think it's best for the team if we trade you. Are you ready for a change?"

Coach Bill: "I disagree. I'm not going anywhere."

GM Bill: "Ok then, well it was worth a shot."

A 7th in 2029

If I'm the Chargers, I'd give up a 1st if they fail miserably with Staley again.

If I was the owner of a talented but underperforming team like the Chargers, I absolutely would give up a 1st.
Didn't see this before making my post but I agree. Chargers with Belichick at coach would be very interesting.

Maybe even the Bengals depending on how their season turns out.

Mac for Zach

Both fanbases subjected to this **** should at least get some Trading Places style entertainment.

I wonder what hyperbole Bill would gush about Mac if he was his team’s next opponent. Lol
I honestly don’t care what Bill says nowadays.
The game has passed him by.
The more games he coaches here the more he soils the Patriots and his own name,
He will be reinvigorated and motivated with his text team.
Looking at the Chargers, Giants, Bears,Commanders.
