He's not an afterthought in the passing game the Defense have to respect him. Very solid player for our Offense. Now we need a WR to step up and give Mac a reliable option outside the numbers.

I love the Pharoah story. Lots of opportunity for overwrought and lame humor - my personal specialty - and scope for the Photoshop poobahs amongst us. I love the idea of his playing fullback. Maybe he's a tad tall for the job, but it'd be a lot of fun to see a renaissance of Fullback Culture here in New England. Bring Back the Meathead.

As for one of our current WR's "stepping up," unfortunately they are all - with the exception of that precious glass object Tyquan - capable only of stepping up or out or over very slowly.

Yep. I kinda doubt this means Mac will in the end prove to be as good a qb as Lawrence, but it certainly shows yet again (as if further confirmation were needed) that Mac is not the Pats' problem.

Mac likely will not prove ultimately to be the Entire Solution (as Brady was, hence our skewed expectations), but he ain't the problem.

The running game allowing play action passes is the only way the deep passing game can function. We have possession WRs.. Thornton is the only WR on the roster that can pose a deep threat. The are who they are at WR.. great complimentary players. If Thornton doesn't show more, and stay on the field this season I think the team will trade him.
