Mac Jones Through 2 Games (2021 vs 2022 vs 2023) By QTR and Redzone Totals

This thread. I appreciate what @Ian is trying to do with the original post, but the guys that hate Mac Jones aren't gonna bend. Like @Rob0729 said, it's like arguing politics. These guys will hate on him until he's run out of town. If they are lucky enough to win, that group will say it will be in spite of Mac. If they don't, then their anger with the team not winning will have another scapegoat.

It's to the point that there really isn't anything to discuss. Ian posts stats, people shoot 'em down.

Because the stats in this case are ridiculous. As I pointed out, look at the big stats. His ANY/A is way down. It is closer to Zach Wilson last year than to average. This accounts for every single play.

His red zone stats and fourth qtr stats are skewed by small sample size and going against a soft shell defense down more than 7 points. People cite the couldas and shouldas but fail to acknowledge the touchdown against Miami was universally condemned as illegal for many reasons.

He’s been booed off the field twice at halftime. He has yet to lead a drive to take the lead or even tie the game.

The team runs every time on second and inches. That speaks volumes about his limitations

Context matters.

Jonestown, New England has become a thing here.

The funny thing is if Jones is run out of town and he has a Geno Smith resurgence or even a Rich Gannon resurgence, may of these people will be the first to bash the Pats for letting him go and not getting the max out of him.

But I guess I am part of the problem because I do engage the anti- Mac crowd despite I know it is an expertise in futility.

No, you engage in the “I’m not taking a side” side and will later claim credit for getting it right, per your usual schtick.

He isn't the entire offense though. Unfortunately, until they stabilize the o-line, we are not going to have a running game and we are going to be an one dimensional pass offense that will have to rely on short quick passes without any speed at WR beyond Douglas. That is the realities of the Patriots right now. We are going to rely on long sustained drives of 10-15 plays because the Pats aren't built right now to get yards in bunches.
He is the engine that drives the offense... the offense is better than last year... but across the board all the issues that were there last year are cropping up again ... and again...

If we can't run the ball then corky and the wrs better get on the same page... no more 7 step drops... no more 3 step drops from the shotgun... 5 seconds timing routes should be a thing of the past... We don't score points... we need to... March down the field 3 yards at a time if need be...its that simple

0-2 .... you are what your record says you are. And right now we aren't very good. And as much as people hate it Mac is going to continue to get criticized because he is the most important player on the field

Every team in the league that gets a young QB tries to build up an offensive line and give him high quality passing weapons. They also aim for consistency. We've routinely had the worst passing corp in the league since he's been here (and before), have had patchwork lines, and he's had 3 OC's.

If this was the Jets, we'd all be laughing about how stupid they are for sabotaging their QB. The problem with Mac right now is not that he's good or bad. It's that we don't know what the hell he is because the team has provided a poor baseline to compare him to anyone else.
We know exactly what Mac Jones is. He's a guy that can't win unless everything is as close to perfect as it can get.

The defense of Mac Jones has transcended politics into the realm of religion. Most of the people pushing back against the Church of Undying Devotion to Mac Jones don't even hate the kid or are indifferent. Accusations of hate are often strawmen designed to prop up the arguments of the church.

What's this "we" stuff, kemosabe?

Wherever he lands, Lucky you will be there to see it in person.

Come back to take a victory lap.

Corky Mac appreciates all your effort.

Yeah please suggest a different QB other than Mahomes or Josh Allen or Lamar who can produce 2 wins with this offensive line.

NE & Mac are 2-7 in their last nine games, only beating MIA's & Ariz's #2 QBs, Teddy Bridgewater and Colt McCoy.

Maybe the team better find a backup who can create a legit competition for Jones for the starter role…since we all know your boy 4’11” Zappy Smurf and his tiny arm isn’t up to the job.

Tom Curran spoke about this on the Rich Eisen show. He also just noticed and mentioned that Bill can't beat teams any good teams.

I've seen the same cycle with the media the last few years. During the offseason, they say how much the Pats have "improved", only to sing a different tune during the season saying "well they have no talent" which Curran now mentions.
