Where are all the posts about how Joe Burrow just isnt good enough, etc? He's a highly paid veteran with tons of weapons, yet Mac is playing better than him while under more pressure this year than any other QB and statistically has the shortest amount of time to throw the ball

people just refuse to be objective and fair in their assessment of this team

Are you being serious? Burrow has been to the SB and beat the Chiefs in KC in the AFCCG. He has also been injured this year and had no preseason whatsoever.

I would like to see a stat that shows how much garbage time stats Mac has accrued when the other team literally takes it foot off the gas because we have shown nothing for 3 quarters that we can win the game.

Not sure if you were referring to only this season but there was no garbage time this season. Both losses this year were by one score or less and the Patriots were near or in the opposing red zone in position to tie or win on their final drive both ending on very close plays (Boutte sidelines and then Strange, the latter should have been a first down it was an awful call to reverse)

Strongly disagree with this. Imho, Mac needs to improve his timing and has to release it earlier. Let's say Bourne is running at close to ball tracking top speed (20mph), then every 0.1sec is basically a yard. If he has to slow down at all, the DB will catch up.

I don't know how these QBs adjust for all the different speed/acceleration profiles of different WRs. It makes sense a QB is gonna tend to have a go to guy since their timing will be worked out. Probably why Burrow and Chase have been so successful.

I think the first team offense should have played a lot more than they did in preseason.

Shows what a real OC does for a QB. I think we all knew he'd be improved over last year. I think the improvement I like the most which I wasn't expecting is his off platform throwing. Hopefully that starts to translate into a better offense.

Ah if you're referring to the blame game I don't blame Mac at all. He has no true #1 WR and a makeshift Oline. The only issue I have with him is that so far he can't get it done in crunch time and there's a big sample size of it now. My expectations of him are a top 12 QB as his ceiling and a top 15 QB as the floor meaning he won't lose us games, but he won't win them either and that's okay just have to get him some help

Release it earlier? he's getting the ball out quicker than any QB in the league because the OL isn't giving him time.

Yeah nothing wrong with that at all, but the offense building approach will have to be a lot different than it was with the GOAT.

While I appreciate the time it took to put together those stats, those exercises are usually done because your QB is not winning and you are trying to spin it that it is not his fault.

Not the case. Had nothing to do with trying to spin anything. I took a look out of curiosity because, since I obviously have all three seasons (his full career so far) stored (and I set up the range of game function specifically for situations like this) I was curious to see his stats to see how they compared with 2021. I was just surprised to see how significantly better they were overall, especially compared to last year in the two quarters I mentioned.

Again, how is it his fault for the Booty non-toe tap and the 4th down call reversal. There have been other losses caused by last minute fumbles by RB's or even laterals to nowhere.

Pinning every single close loss on Mac is extremely unfair at best.
