I liked the signing when it happened. He seemed to be more suited for the Pats' style of offense than Meyers because of his YAC ability. But he may be shaping up to be a bad pick.

I admit I was a bit biased because I just flat out don't like him and have always found him extremely annoying but I didn't like the signing and liked it even less because we let Jakobi walk. I know anyone who dares lamenting letting Jakobi walk must think he's Jerry Rice but I liked Jakobi and what he did here. Consistent and reliable and signed a very similar deal money wise to Juju. I don't know if Juju is hurt or if just isn't that good but I hope we can get more out of him than we have seen this summer.

On a otherwise somber morning, your post just made me spit out my coffee. Definitely a much-needed laugh (and your post is spot on), so thank you for that.

So was he Benched late last game??

I hate being right on these things... while the Patriots personnel decision makers got it so wrong!
All you homers can cry "conspiracy", but the way BB basically tossed Harris & Meyers out the door, there was something more personal they were evaluating with. It was not in the best interest of the team - PERIOD.
BB went and signed James Robinson who is irrelevant, and was cut as soon as he got on the field for OTA's.
And they gave JSS the money Meyers wanted. When Mac loved Meyers, and he was the best WR over the worst 3 years of this teams history in the last 27 years. Just the WRONG decision.
And for the snowflakes out there - this doesn't mean I hate the team, and don't want to watch and root for every minute of play... which I do, and have done since 1994. It means some things are obvious, and we're allowed to honest.

Very sad indeed.

Regarding my JuJu follow up.......
I've been sitting on this one, waiting for a chance to spring into action

I know some people will get pissed when this is brought up but something was seriously wrong in that locker room last year and there definitely seemed to be some factions that were created.

Brian Hoyer who was rumored to be Team Mac in the great Patricia war was cut even though he was still owed $1.4 million in guaranteed money.

Damien Harris, who was Mac's college teammate, signed for pennies in Buffalo and was also Team Mac and at one point retweeted a negative Patrica tweet in free agency. Bill easily could have matched that offer but didn't and ended up trying to bargain ship as you said and when Robinson couldn't play he had to pay up for Zeke.

Jakobi Meyers signed a relatively cheap deal compared to what a lot of people thought he would get and was definitely Team Mac and openly defended Mac after the Zappe chants on MNF against the Bears.

I think the only guys who were thought to be openly Team Mac and by default anti-Patricia were David Andrews and Kendrick Bourne and we all saw what happened to Bourne last year.

They signed Juju to replace Jakobi Meyers, not to become Randy Moss.

Desperately searching for drama where there is none.

They signed Juju as an improvement over Jakobi Meyers, otherwise they should've just re-signed Jakobi Meyers.
Juju is paid less, along with being a faster overall player.

Meyers is going to miss a game this week, Juju isn’t.

You people act disappointed Juju hasn’t become Tyreek Hill… he never was and isn’t paid as such.

No no. It is okay that our highest paid receiver lost reps to 7th round rookies in crunch time even though he isn't injured. Nothing to see here. All part of the plan.

Faster? Jakobi was never a burner by any means but did you watch Juju on that crossing pattern?

You were there and used a radar gun?

Juju also dropped a pass on third down that would have gained him another 15-20 yards… was that his knee?

Juju needs to earn those $$$$$ we paid him in FA with Fragile Slender man being out And DeVante being his often injured self.

I have eyes and watched Juju plod across the field. He has had a nagging knee issue for a while. In 2017 Juju ran a 4.54 and Jakobi ran a 4.63 2 years later. Yes Jakobi ran a slower 40 time but Jakobi's 2 years younger and doesn't have lingering knee issues.

Eyeball tests are worthless. Douglas and Boutte earned their roster spots, they have younger fresher legs in the 4th quarter than the older guy coming off a cleanup procedure on his knee.

The NFL season is a marathon, not a sprint.

Are you using a radar gun to state Juju is faster?

Okay so then it's nothing to worry about. I am glad the conductor of the homer train always keeps it on the tracks.

They test these guys exiting college. They could be the same exact speed… Juju is still cheaper than Jakobi… who is actually missing a game this week.

Yeah, and then time passes and injuries happen and said numbers change. But I mean, he was indeed 0.08 seconds faster in the 40 yard dash 6 years ago and I'm sure he's exactly as fast.

Also, how much of a bad person to you have to be to keep flaunting the fact that Meyers got CONCUSSED and won't be playing Week 2? Is that an indictment on him in any way? He'd just be concussed with the Patriots had they brought him back? This is just garbage.
