Patriots Player Departure Official 2023 Patriots Roster Cutdown Thread (final roster in opening post)

We saw how awful their kicker was during the game, a few people joked we should trade them Folk in the game thread. Funny that it actually happened. Curious what the comp is.

Edit: Oh, looks like it's a 7th round pick two years from now. That's like... next to nothing. But I guess we'll take it lol. It can be used to make a cut-down day acquisition like this ourselves in the future.

Good, they can fix the rookie numbers now. Give White his college 6 to free up 99 for Baringer.

Probably a Star Wars fan and wants to show that he's getting ready to kick ass like Mace?
Better than posting a picture of SLJ on the Patriots jet saying, “I’ve had it with these mother****ing snakes on this mother****ing plane!” Which I assume would have happened if he were cut.

So they traded for two OT's knowing Anderson was coming back.
It does make me feel better about it. Assuming Anderson is the backup LT (or just swing tackle in general) then the acquisitions are competing for the RT spot. That is between Sow, Reiff (if healthy, and if he's not permanently a RG now), maybe McDermott (if healthy), or the new guys.

Someone on here speculated that they traded for both but will only keep one (though I doubt it). More likely it says something about the situation with Reiff.

Except Reiff was not playing tackle.

More bodies are good. The tackle position is thin even with Anderson coming back.

This is just Lazar speculation:

With the OL struggles I wouldn't be surprised if they keep extra. Plus, Bill pretty much always keeps his early round picks. Seems like that might end this year, though, too many guys. Mafi is a keeper and Sow too, probably. I didn't see much from Andrews even though he was the highest picked.

I wouldn't expect Anderson is ready for week 1. He's had some kind of illness, he needs to get back in football shape. This does make it optimistic that he's back for week 2 or 3 though, because otherwise why carry him on the 53?

This is just Lazar speculation:

I know it's never done, but they can keep 11, and instantly IR Reiff.

What did they think would happen drafting three, signing two to no cut contracts, Strange, Brown, Onwenu, Andrews?
