Pats cancel joint practices with Tennessee

I’d rather have them get reps in a preseason game as joint practices are just controlled environments. Coaches can work on what they want to work on.
Spot on.

Red no contact jersey practices are fake BS. The QB needs to be pressured and he needs to get the damn ball out.

Sorry, but all the canceled stuff, the days off, the overlooking egregious irresponsible nonsense such as leaving the field in a snit during practice looks far less new-age "compassionate," "adapted to the needs to today's athlete" and far more just plain soft. Right now, this team is not close to ready for the regular season. It would not be a wild stretch to say this team is at this point simply ill-run, badly coached, badly GM'd. The dereliction in rebuilding obvious weak areas over the past few years is coming home to roost, and now the practice schedule seems more under the aegis of the Oprah's of the world than the George Halases. In a year or so, when we are ready to ask, "When exactly was it that Bill's decline as a coach really accelerated," we may well point to this silly fiasco as a major inflection point.

I am glad the guy is not as seriously hurt as it seemed he might have been, but that's not the point, is it?, and giving the boys extra time to "process their emotions" is just ridiculous. The team cannot afford, and has certainly not yet earned, that consideration.
Dude, how often does you're wife tell you to "Shut the **** Up!"?

I do not understand the reason for cancelling.

Will the patriots be ready for the start of the season?
Not sure how cancelling the practices with Tennessee helps Bolden or the team?

First question is trolling.
Second one I actually agree with.

a curious decision to cancel the practices w Tennessee, considering Bill the Coach has led his team to consecutive 1-3 starts

I'll bet when you were a kid you went out of your way to step on the doggy poo.

It can also come back to haunt you as it was talked about this week on ESPN. Joint practices were brought up and Diana Russini mentioned the Jaguars had a good idea of what the Pats like to do on offense because of their joint practice session in 2017. They gave the Pats a scare in that AFCCG.

The big advantage of joint practices is they can simulate the same game situations multiple times vs. someone unfamiliar with their personnel/tendencies and vice versa. In a preseason game, those situations might never occur.

BB was at the forefront of this joint practice trend that most other teams are now doing. But it seems lately they're tending to get "chippy" and harder to control. Not sure why, maybe because guys are fighting for jobs and don't want to be shown up.

Sure, the 3rd and 4th team QB's need the reps.

Odd decision. What does Bolden's injury have to do with the practices in TEN?
Is BB worried about chippiness with the Titans in practice?
Did he see enough good things that he doesn't need to spend the time away from home base, or did he see too much bad and needs to hone in on their own process and maximize time?
I'm guessing the White and Thornton injuries may have played a factor too. And I wouldn't discount the fighting either.

Oh dear, such animus.

Maybe they’ll treat the game as more of a tune up. That’d be fine with me.

Sometimes...Ownership/Coach/Players politics play into these types of decisions.

I don't really have a strong opinion on the canceling of the joint practices, other than I believe it's probably due to the loss of a day schedule wise, but I'm strongly against using ****y as an insult. How can something so wonderful be bad? It should be a compliment.

Those two words together do make sense, though. That is, as far as what it does.

i dunno why tf we're worried about injuries at a joint session. I'll go to a joint session because I'm sore. keeps me a buck fifty. ask Moss about it.

After hanging out for 2 days and a preseason game, it's turning into the Hatfield/McCoys out there with trash talking and late hits (and potentially dirty season ending ones like the one to Wilkerson last year). Are joint practices helpful for winning SB's? Pats didn't do it for their 1st 3, and Chiefs haven't done it under Reid. I'd rather they go back to 4 preseason games than joint practices + 3 games.
