That's not true - even though it was the "hawt take." Look at their contracts side-by-side. They didn't get the same money - JJSS got less.
He got 16m in guaranteed money up front vs 10m for Meyers... Meyers has a higher upside though

Meyers contract for 3 years would be 33million, JJSS's 3-year cost is 25,5million. Even though there's less guarantee for Meyers, the Pats can get out of JJSS's contract cheaper after 2 years than the Raiders can get away from Meyers. The contracts are VERY different.

I prefer Juju, so I'll take it. Nothing against Meyers, who was a great Patriot (particularly as a UDFA), but to me, JJSS has a much higher potential to break plays.

I prefer who boot strapped himself up the ranks... Those are the kind of guys we need to keep... 6 or 1/2 dozen I suppose

To me, Jakobi always caught the ball looking to catch the ball, whereas JJSS is always looking to gain another mess of yards. Even in the early days with Pittsburgh, every time I saw him on one of those short/intermediate crossers, he seemed to know exactly where to run for the next ten yards.

I'm with you, though, on being sad to see Jakobi go, but at least he's with McDaniels, who will know how to get the best out of him. Seems like a great guy.

I wonder if they could have co-existed with Parker, Bourne & Douglas if both of them had signed here?

I also wonder if there's an Outside Receiver inside JuJu that's still waiting to break free?

i think it was one or the other, if meyers stayed, smith-schuster would have gone somewhere else
