[Mod Edit:] Board Issues/Reaction Issues Thread

Is it too much to allow posters to actually talk about the offensive line... or do we need to hear how Tom made Joe Thuney and Vollmer into great players and they otherwise would have ended up unemployed jags? Can we talk about defense, or do we have to hear how Tom made the defense great by teaching Gilmore and Law how to man cover?
I’ve said this a couple of times now, this has become just like “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon” - you can literally tie this into any discussion and several people have become masters at it. While I admire that ability, they need to use those powers toward something else.

That’s amazing. You blamed others in every single paragraph without a second thought of what you could do in order to improve the place. In other words? You’re perfect. It’s everyone else who is the problem. If only everyone was like you, the perfect fan, father, and person, the board would be much better off.

Do you want to stop this? Or do you want to keep proving my point for me?
I've taken responsibility for my involvement, I can't make you do the same. Good luck moving forward.

Congratulations on finally figuring out that you’re making my point for me. That’s the first step, my guy. You did it. Now, go work on how you can be better.

One of us has admitted fault, the other hasn't... but you do you. Again, nice gif, not passive aggressive at all.

I'm going for a jog. See you later when you're here telling us you're not here posting.

Moved all these posts in this thread since I’d like the other one to stay about what I originally intended, which was about creating new threads for related news rather than burying new information in old threads.

Don’t forget the sports bra. While you’re on your jog, ask yourself this - What’s more likely? That everyone you’re responding to are just zealots who are lesser fans than you? Or that you need to adjust your expectations a bit and consider if there is more than one way of being a fan of the team?

At this point it's more like two degrees, or one degree on a bad day.

Again, moderation - and rules - exist for a reason . You’re implying there’s a bigger issue, when in fact, the problem is simply bringing up the same topic in every thread. This shouldn’t be that tough, yet, here we are.

I get what you’re saying and it would be different if it was happening on a bigger scale and this was just me being difficult and trying to force people and discussions in a certain direction.

It’s not. It’s limited to just a few people. And those people involved are now aware - or at least they should be - that it needs to end.
It's more than a few people (that participate). And I don't think (generally) there's any malice involved, i.e. intent to derail or otherwise sabotage a thread.

It also happens all the time with the diversion being unrelated to the dreaded Brady-Belichick stuff. You can't possibly keep every (or any lengthy) thread on track and trying to would be a nightmare. But I get the focus is the B-B stuff which again is your prerogative.

For my part, I'll genuinely go about my business with added mindfulness to steer clear of BvB and repetition in my posts. I think the BvB debate will be relevant to reassess after the season but in the meantime it's rehashing established (and unchanging) arguments on both sides.

There’s a few guys - Wozzy & The Bill Ballwashers - who can’t even make a comment without prefacing it with “Despite that Brady fanboys think that magic fairy dust quarterbacks…” even when there’s no one in the thread saying that stuff. Then they’re on the TB forum looking to pick fights. They basically cannot survive without constant fuel from the faction they claim to despise.

I remember in the 80s/90s football was a lot more diverse and teams like the Redskins, Giants, Cowboys were winning multiple championships without superstar QBs. The league was really interesting at that time and teams had different identities and could beat you with different strengths.

The league has changed, it’s very QB centric, and it seems like Team Bill is angry about this and redirect their hate at the people acknowledging the reality of the situation.

Crackheads and feral cats in the street have kids... it's a special gift though.

Cats give birth to litters of kittens. They do not give birth to human children.

Nailed it! I grew up on 90's football and many teams had identities on both offense and defense which is what made it so fun to watch. Now, every team runs the same offense and defense/build their teams the same way.

Ditto with the NBA - every team plays the same way.

A lot of small **** energy around here. Where's my boy @Dingleberry to bring the toxicity up

Turning over a new leaf. No more fanning the flames or outright lighting the fires. Call it a metaphorical circumcision and a new world of Dingle small **** energy.

I asked @Ian if he wanted me to step up and be a moderator. For some reason, he has ignored my selfless offer.

Discussing simple topics with some are tough. I will say that. Which is fine, right? I am not the most articulate and dont have rhe most extensive vocab so its not "everyone else" Different strokes, we don't think the same etc but I don't want to come here and have argue the obvious with people. I do feel The QB position is a perfect example that highlights it perfectly. The disparity there is unreal.

We could be on the same page about certain things. I think we need to really be adults and drop the past. Solely focus on post-Brady and what's happened. To me that's the priority. The team in 2023.

Let's take a fresh look in the near future but we have an actual, live, F'n team spinning in the middle rn. That's more important than who was more important 10-15 years ago.

Every year, every draft is important and make or break but this year is actually uniquely significant. It's been almost a half decade since Tom left. A) Bill and his decisions should be dissected. B)by years end Mac will be looking at a deal that's not too far away and coming off year 3. Year 2 & 3 are notoriously important. It's time to really think about our play considering the QB class. It would be nice to have the fan base united on the two biggest issues save RKK letting Jonathan really take over.

Big decisions. It would be great if we could leave Malcolm Butler, Gronks Dad and Bradys contracts cloud the atmosphere of what might the most important year in two decades.

Tremendous post BGC. Crucial 12 months ahead…

It’s fair to ask if BB is the guy to usher in the next era of competitiveness.

Both seem oddly content to rest on past accomplishment…which is antithetical to what was espoused RE players for decades.

Don’t tell me what you did…SHOW me what you are going to do.

Otherwise, will happily honor you at your HOF induction.

QB situation needs clarity given some very good passers will be available via draft.

Bigger issue IMO is that Bill will never allow anyone else to run personnel, and doesn’t wan’t to coach players he doesn’t personally like.

Those two things are highly unusual in any industry for a leader.

Disagree. My personal experience is that leaders always play their favorites.

We got a new CIO. Within a year half of the leaders reporting to him, or their reports, were new hires from his old shop.
I just read of a neurosurgeon who moved from Hopkins to Mayo. Along with thirty members of his staff.

I would say it’s more unusual for that kind of thing to not be the case.
