It was definately a career turning point. The peanut butter on both slices of bread speaks volumes about his containment philosophy. Sealing off the mobile jelly by plugging holes on its flanks is brilliant! The technique applied with the knife regarding the peanut butter indicates a relentless desire to properly fill all gaps causing the jelly to seek alternate routes at the edges. I'd love to see what he could do against more pocket oriented preserves.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of raisin bread though. Plus, the raisins will sometimes fall out, thus leaving a hole for jelly to possibly escape through. I'd suggest a thick stone-ground wheat brand, such as Pepperidge Farm.

Now that's a coincidence. All this talk gave me a hankering for a PB&J sandwich and there just happened to be a loaf of Pepperidge Farm whole grain honey and oats on the table. It was good.

If you have good linebackers that can fill in holes left by the raisins and stop the jelly from running you can use raisin bread. But if your linebackers are suspect you need a thicker bread.

Better old linebackers than old raisin bread.

Obviously you've got to plug up the gaps but it wouldn't hurt to have another piece of bread over top. You've got your front leaven, and your help over the top, but if you're going to plug the gap with peanut butter on both sides, that's why you need one more piece of bread with peanut butter over top of the top piece in a cover two shell. Plus, wouldn't it make sense to set the edge with peanut butter around the sides, and then fried, in true Elvis (flying or otherwise) tradition?

i noticed he used the same knife for both the PB as well as the J, despite the fact that a second knife was on the table. but, this is no surprise as it suggests that Belichick is looking for versatility in knives, with one knife able to play multiple roles. so, THAT's where he came up with the idea!!!

You're heading in the right direction, but the the Pepperidge Farm is too moist (the pocket collapses easily). Take it from an expert: Matthew's Honey Oat. And apricot jam.

In Indy's defense, Bob Sanders would be the big raisin. As soon as he's gone, they're more similar to white WonderBread, with running backs, like jelly, breaking open the middle and flowing right through!
