How much longer will you drink the BB kool-aid?

It really is amazing that we have two large bodies of work from a HC who broke records with Tom Brady but is Wrecks Ryan without him. That's the truth and all of the reach-arounds for Bill doesn't change that FACT at all. Neither does calling the fans names who disagree or telling them to find another team.

Andy Reed was ridiculed here constantly and didn't win until he got better players, especially at QB.
Bill never won squat without top players.
The Bucs coaching staff was considered the 3 Stooges until they got enough players and then they won it all in spite of the coaching. Unfortunately, the coaching staff came down to earth and ended the Bucs next season just short of the SB.
Look at the coaches who won with PEDton Manning.

Why not trust Bill when he says it's a players game because it sure as hell isn't about coaching. The proof of that has been playing out right before our eyes for many years now.
brady is the goat, and there really isn't anyone inline to replace that, other than the last person(s) that won a Superbowl, history will show that is not true, and we will never see another run as we just did, bill gives us the best chance to win, if you or any nostra-dumbass sees the next Brady , let bill know but I am not ready to support removing him, its just not logical to do so at this point, and you are letting your emotions get in the way of reality , we are back in the pack of hopefuls and not in Jests territory

The problem is you can paint the last few years down to it being Bill the gms fault. His methods don't necessarily work anymore without Brady.

Bill never had a contingency plan for Gronk retiring, ignored his scouts on receivers and drafts harry in the first round. So you give Brady garbage leading to him leaving. Now Kraft steps in and Bill concedes to the scouts.

Which is fine, but we have no contingency plan! So bill hires the shell of cam newton and we have a trash season.

Come the following year we load up, get Mac Jones and have a promising season. But ONCE AGAIN bill doesn't plan for McDaniels leaving.

Hires his two buddies who never coached offense before and we have another trash season. Bills fault again.

So now Bill finally does what he should have and gets a real OC. But still right now patriots are LAST in NFL in real spending this off-season. We should be better than last year. But is Bill really making an effort to improve the team and serious about competing? It remains to be seen. If we make some big trades/signings I'll have more faith.

Dolphins, Jets, Bills all improved. Patriots did but still talent wise are in distant fourth.

For a coach/fans who are okay with talent like Brady leaving because it's "not about what you did in the past it's about what you are doing now" they sure like to defend Bill based on what he did in the past....and not his recent track record/moves.

The draft hasn't happened yet. They're going to fill some holes via that. And some players from the last couple of drafts should be making a second or third year leap and that will help things as well.

The FA market is thin this year at the positions the Pats are thinnest at so, there's not much else to do other than draft well and not mortgage the future.

I'm not a blind BB disciple. He's made some really bad decisions going back prior to 2019 and it's going to take a couple of seasons (if they're lucky) to correct them. But the future is not all doom and gloom either.

Asiasi and Keene were "nothing burgers", and Jonnu and Henry disappointed, were not worth the money, but not "nothing burgers". Maybe I misunderstood you?
We spent two top 100 picks on two TE's and then had the most TE room in the league after paying Henry and Smith. If the picks weren't top 100 the were very close. Same for the $. Might not have been #1 but it was up there. Ended up paying Smith like 500K per rec.

Just not a good use of resources. Like the Panthers could have had Fields years ago on a rookie contract with Moore and + assets. Now they spent a ton on moving up on 4 guys that weren't as good as Fields coming out. I believe there was a rumored about them trading back down. Just not a good use of resources, time and people's hard work.

Agreed but Jonnu and Henry were not "nothing burgers". Jonnu was amazingly bad, no idea BB got that FA signing so wrong, but Henry is what we thought he was.

You're an idiot.

Bruschi is correct, there is no NE WR that strikes fear in the hearts of defenses.
Rob Ninkovich said the said thing a while back. He also said the defense shrinks against competent offenses. Phil Perry just mentioned it on a podcast with Curran but the media has been bio-polar recently on the Pats. Michael Holley admitted this as he thought the Pats had a good roster, now he doesn't.

The lack of offensive players keeping D coordinators up at night had been said all year during the broadcasts.

I hate to break it to you but no coach wins without great players. And no great player wins without other great players.

Bethel Johnson was fast and so was Chad Jackson.
Suggesting Thornton is guaranteed to be Bethel/Jackson is equally as dumb as saying he'll be Randy Moss.

You can't see the future, stop pretending you can.

I'm open to this. Like I suppose I'm not certain who did or did not want that Bledsoe mega-deal. Bill was hired as the head coach and general manager of the team, right? I thought Kraft hired Bill with an epiphany that even as the team's owner he needed to stay in his own lane and let the HC coach and the GM manage. After the whole debacle with the other Bill and the failure with Pete.

My assumption is Belichick would have at least signed off on that Bledsoe deal. I mean there's not a bigger decision for a team to make. How could Kraft have done that absent Bill's complete approval? I keep hearing, from members of the forum, that Bill had "nothing to do with it" and it was "all Robert Kraft's doing." I just don't recall ever seeing or hearing any actual confirmation of it. So I find it very hard to believe it went down like that.
You're right. Kraft wanted it and Bill did it so that they saved on the cap and could move on later if they chose to, which they did.

The epiphany occurred when they went all the way.

Both men were presented with a situation and an opportunity to do the same thing, only this time for a player who deserved it, twenty years later.

It was not unreasonable for Brady to expect and for any team to guarantee him three years. Common sense: Give the guy whatever he wants!!!!!! If anybody ever earned it, it's Tom!!!

And Kraft is later all furious that the Patriots aren't mentioned in his first retirement statement. Hello! McFly!

Telling me all about Thorntons speed and height is dumb.

So what?

And?

Was Brady the only good QB in the NFL?

Get over it...
Duh

The Pat's could build an offensive roster with JAGS and win Super Bowls because of Brady.

You said they needed someone to take the top off a defense... a 6'3" guy who runs a 4.2 forty and has arms as long as a Peterdactyl qualifies.

Whether he develops into a starting field stretcher is another question, but saying he couldn't is silly.

This is a load of crap, and if it were true they would have been a contender in 2002 a year removed from winning a ring.

Every year they won a ring they were the best team in the league.

Edelman and Troy Brown never struck fear in the hearts of defenses either… but they sure hoisted a few Lombardi trophies.

Trivia question: how many rings do Randy Moss, Julio Jones, Deandre Hopkins, and Larry Fitzgerald possess?
That only worked because of Brady being able to lead game winning drives, have strong poise, and maximize what he had. And yes, I know the Pats had a good defense.

Even with the Pats defense, Bledsoe wasn't going to accomplish what Brady did. There's a reason people thought the Pats were dead in the water when Bledsoe got hurt. Because people thought the team wasn't that great.

Outside of them though? Peyton's colts and broncos had good receivers. The steelers had good receivers.

Fitzgerald rarely had good QB play - the few times he did, the Cardinals went to the super bowl and nfc title game.

Julio jones and the falcons made the super bowl... and played well... and would have if the Pats had literally any other QB in the league playing for them that day

I don't get it man. Just look at history. Receivers are damned important. I Don't know why you're still arguing this ‍♂️

Bourne, Schuster, Thornton, Parker Agholor, Henry, Gesicki.... that's who will be catching passes from the teams 2021 #1 draft pick. these are the weapons of an offense that scores 2 tds/game. throw in a couple of field goals a game and a few defensive and special team scores and voila, we have an offense that scores about 21 points a game. maybe 22. is that an offense good enough to compete with all the outstanding quarterbacks on the schedule next year? Bill the buffoon has got to build a better offense than what there is down on Jonathan City on route 1 North. because right now as Teddy b there is absolutely no one on this offense for which the other team must game plan. no one. I know some clowns on here are going to say the defenses have to plan for Stevenson.
Bill the GM is setting up this to be like the 2019 Patriots where Bill the coach thought he had a better chance to block a punt en route to score a touchdown against Kansas City and Tennessee instead of returning a punt and mounting it offensive drive of many plays. I see no other reason for him to be spending so much money on stupid special teams players

BB, a "buffoon"? You are a clueless hater-clown with this incoherent cloudy crystal ball post. Please take your abject lack of football knowledge elsewhere. Last season you jumped on the Buffalo bandwagon, a good place for you -- once you're done sitting on it they're always looking for another bildo chucker.

Bill the GM is setting up this....for the draft and the rest of free agency. It's mid march for F - sake. Your ability to ***** about everything before it's a finished product is impressive. My wife is taking notes.
