BGC 2023 TE/PTP Thread

Two guys that will go top 40-50. Musgrave is smooth, can block, catch through contact, good hands. Kincaid is like butter moving around, very fluid running routes. Over 100 rec, 1 drop. Natural hands. Dude is a problem up the seem and mof.

How is Kinkaid's blocking? If it's at least average, then I'd say he needs to be our top 3rd round pick, unless you think he doesn't last that long...

Daniel Jeremiah has him as the #1 TE in the draft and #9 best player overall, stating Kincaid is a more explosive version of Zach Ertz coming out of college. While that is opinion is subjective he is largely considered one of the top three TE's coming out, I would be shocked if he lasts beyond the second round.

Brevin Spann Ford is the best blocking TE in the draft in my opinion. I'm not sure he can be much else though.

Luke Musgrave is a really intriguing prospect, all the traits but limited production and game time.

Ford's returning to college, I believe...

Interesting read at the end regarding this group of TE's get one of those guys so we can move on from Jonnu Smith next year.

Starting to question the significance of RAS when it comes to the 10.0 of Kuntz.

If you don't see the field as a TE at PSU year after year, there's gotta be something wrong.

I know of no college team that uses their TEs more than PSU, and they'll throw true freshman in there. Kuntz was beaten out by Brenton Strange. That says a lot to me.

Something is really wrong here.

The only thing that RAS does is make a comparison of Combine stats to what other players have done. It's has ZERO bearing on whether or not players will produce at the Pro Level. It's not a predictor of anything.

There were two UDFA Linemen that the Pats signed a few years back who both had Mid-8/Low9 RAS and neither amounted to anything.

It measures physical traits that should correlate with being a good player, but correlation is not causation.

well some players can be physically gifted, very athletic but not good enough to play football at a high level (mentally, effort, football IQ, or just lack of execution)

@BaconGrundleCandy I like what I see with Schoonmaker. Seems like an ideal mid-rounder TE #2. What are your thoughts?
Love him he's on my list (just released in main) Hes a bulldog blocker in both the run and pass pro. Takes pride, strong as **** and tested out the gym. Can play a little FB. Good rr for his size although he could definitely be coached up. He's not that fast in terms of play speed but still a mismatch for some LB and able to out muscle smaller DB.

I have a tentative 4th on him rn.

@BaconGrundleCandy what's your thoughts on Sam Laporta. Always seems to be open . His fluidity reminds me of Kelce . Should we try to draft him towards end of round 2 . He looks super polished in his highlight reels.

TE2 on my PTP Board after Washington (out in my thread on main) and was TE 3 or 4 in my tier 1 from this fall. I like him a lot.

He's set records at Iowa for most rec and led his conf in rec, yards and yac. He is fluid though - most missed tackles at Iowa in a half decade. He's able to keep speed changing direction on a route without losing speed. Very smooth mover whether he's weaving and dodging or running in a straight line.

He runs routes on all levels and they give him manufactured touches. So he's smart and can handle a lot. Some guys are smart but can't handle the workload but he's got brains and confidence. He runs TE and WR routes. Very polished rr that knows how to get open at the top of his route. Can high point. Catch through contact.

If his offense was more explosive he would be talked about a lot more. He's as smooth a rr as Kincaid but heavier. I've been a big fan.

Lacrosse, eh?

Dalton Kincaid has something you almost never see from TEs. And that's Elite Body control. His adjustments to the throws are incredible. He really brings a WRs game to the position.
