NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Official 2023 Free Agency Thread

Thankfully the WR market is slow - because all GM's are realizing it is way too bloated.
BB is good at waiting it out. We'll lose a few opportunities, but we may end up okay. Meyers set the bar at $11/yr.
So, it seems we could sweat someone out at $8/yr.
I'll go on record that I wouldn't be surprised if Slayton, JuJu and Chark go next. And we end up with OBJ on a short "prove it" deal.

Jakobi & Juju are similar #2 WRs. They play similar roles as big slot WRs. Here’s a difference:

Juju Smith-Schuster 5.5 YAC 12th/102
Jakobi Meyers 3.6 YAC 59th/102

I’d be fine with him as a #2 WR. He can’t be the only WR they add though.

IMO, Smith-Schuster is a better fit than Meyers... Meyers was solid but no YAC ability at all, not good on rub routes. Juju and Bourne are much more dynamic options.

I’m good with Schuster. Like Jeudy a lot but not for #14. Now if we trade 14 for some good draft capital (later 1st, 2nd, 2024 3rd). Then trade the 1st for Jeudy and a 3rd/4th, I’d be ok with that.

Pats please don't get a FA or trade WR. Just grab some homegrown talent and just get it right for once, which might mean drafting 2 high up. Get their growing pains out of the way this year (drops/wrong routes/etc) to get ready for a full run next year and beyond. Almost all of the SB winners in the last who knows how long have had their best receiver as homegrown talent.

They are behaving how they always have behaved. I know it is frustrating, but we really shouldn't be expecting them to change their behavior as it will just leave us disappointed.

Just like we will be at the end of next season.

I was okay letting Jakobi go as we need someone more dynamic at that spot if we really want to catch the best of the AFC. If we end up with JuJu at a similar cost to I will question it though. this move better come with a price discount

I hoped letting Meyers go meant we were targeting a JSN or someone else in the draft to elevate the offense. JuJu is a similar player to Meyers with a capped ceiling - a good player but ultimately a possession receiver who couldn’t crack 1000 yards with Mahomes. So what will he do with Mac?

Meyers got 11M AAV….he was the best FA WR.

We gave Agholor a lot more money than that…
I would love Chark, JuJu, and a trade for Hops/Juedy. We certainly have the cap room to do all of that….

Yes, the BoB offense requires the slot to do a lot more YAC.

I think we're still in for a WR1 on the outside too, though.

Ummm...Meyers?

Ummm...Meyers?
Ship has sailed unfortunately.

Edit: I guess you might be referencing the "for once." Pats problem which I was screaming about since his rookie year was he needed to be in there getting huge reps since day 1. Instead they had Zuber active over him at one point. Now it's too late.

almost 1000 yards and 6 TD, 67% catch rate in this horrendous offense last season is very very good. If we are making excuses for mac because of the offense and coaching last year then we need to consider the environment jeudy played in last year. their offense was dog ****

We had that in Meyers

If the pick was 30+, like the old days, mayb...no, still no.

With the pick at 14? No way.

Jeudy hasn't begun to prove he's a WR1.
