NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Official 2023 Free Agency Thread

Sounds like the Pats have a price point that they are not willing to go over for a WR. That will work to their advantage if no other teams are offering players those amounts. However, having that hard line drawn could lead to them getting no one.

I wonder if the sticking point with Hopkins isn't the pick compensation the Pats would have to give Arizona but the restructured contract they are willing to pay him.

Juju seems like a better version of Jacobi so I'd be happy with him. OBJ and Hopkins are more of the outside receivers we need imo (I think we can get the small type slot that the Pats offense under BoB has favored in the draft).

I can't tell you how hilarious and funny this is.

His wife (who cheated on him with Antonio Brown) hates the city of Buffalo (hey, I live in Buffalo, and I love it, so don't you dare...), she made a big deal out of moving away and going to a state that suits her political sensibilities like Texas, and here they are right back to the town that they said bye too, they took photos of packing away their house on social media, boxes, etc.

He’s not a #1.. pair him with Juedy or Hopkins and I would be ok with it.
when did we have a number 1? the offense just needs a WR like JuJu and better use of our current weapons
bourne - slot
parker - big wideout, contested, redzone
thornton - vertical routes, slot, slant, designed stuff
juju - physical slot

--> with Henry and a new TE our weapons look ok

the CRUCIAL aspect for our success is the PASS PROTECTION

i just set this in capital because this is so important for mac and our passing game, a very good FA OT and a high draft pick will be major successor for our offense and mac's development.

The Patriots are behaving like they still have Tom Brady and the salary cap doesn't go up massivly every year. THEY NEED TO SPEND MONEY IN 2023!

It's going to suck if the Pats pay $11m per when they could have had Jakobi.
Also makes no sense since with Jakobi you had continuity with the playbook, you knew what you were getting. Here we go with an unknown.

I wouldn't mind JuJu, considering our options out there. He's supposedly better than Meyers on paper, but he also seems like a wild-card with an AB-like personality that could flip at any moment. Not sure how team-first he is. And he's only 0.1 sec. faster than Meyers.
It's crazy that they're exactly the same age, while JuJu has 2 more years of experience.

They are behaving how they always have behaved. I know it is frustrating, but we really shouldn't be expecting them to change their behavior as it will just leave us disappointed.

Yeah that’s worked in the past hasn’t it?

I don't care if the Pats go 3-14 as long as the Jets go 2-15 because this Rodgers **** is just unbelievably insufferable and I've rarely ever wanted to witness failure so bad.

Juju is a good player. WR2. The Pats probably like his physicality and blocking abilities.

What is going on in this thread?

The free agent class was horrible. Jakobi was the best of them.

Why are people complaining? You can't materialize Calvin Johnson out of thin air.

People are simultaneously saying the Patriots should fork over a lot of money to players worse than Jakobi while also arguing the Patriots are hoarding cap money.

Is this the "Don't Just Stand There, Do Something" Daniel Snyder approach?
