NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Official 2023 Free Agency Thread

re OL

i wonder how Bill feels about that second round tender by DAL for LT Steele..

Hmm, I know. He's an actually commodity with NFL film to judge him, vs a wish and a prayer at 46. BUT I just look at the needs we have and have to figure THAT pick could get us a REALLY good quality prospect at CB, TE, Edge, OT, etc. When will be the next time we get 2 picks in the top 50 again? IIIRC it hasn't happened since the JG trade got us #39.

Maybe it would be a good plan if we made the Jeudy trade, then traded down to the mid 20's and replaced the 2 that way. But if a 2 and 5 at the trade deadline had no takers, then in full FA why would the value be the same or greater. Dropping the 2 to a 3, but upping 5 to a 4th and adding a 2024 pick is very fair. The Broncos get 2 shots at 2nd day picks and another in 2024 for a player they CLEARLY don't want. I'd day it was MORE than fair.
ken: imagine Jeudy - Meyers and a Second year jump T Thornton that would put our Offense back on the map. Yes we would keep DC's up at nights.

He’s got 1 year left on his deal at $8.5m, rest are void years. Trade TB the 4th rounder for JC Jackson 4th rounder and a 6th rounder, get back TB’s 5th rounder, 7th rounder and Mason. Put him at RG. Kick Onwenu back to RT where he held his own in 2020. Keep Trent Brown at LT. We now have a real offensive line coach. Problem solved? Draft a developmental tackle this year to start in 2024.

Dreams for Pats LT move slightly closer to reality

Two of the top 4 tackles off the board. Going to be disappointed if the Pats don't add Brown or McGary at this point. Brown seems unlikely to stay in KC but Chicago is in a prime spot to outbid now.

I mean if Jeudy is the player the Broncos drafted #15 but is not in the "right system" AND Thornton becomes one as well, then YES!!!!!. But there has to be a REASON why no one bit on a shot at him at the deadline. There has to be a REASON Denver is so eager to trade him. What is it? Also Thornton has got to make a HUGE jump to justify his draft pick in my mind. I was horrified at his 3 cone time which well worse than Mac's and saw no explosiveness from him last year.

"on paper" it would LOOK good I'm just worried the end result wouldn't equal the hype. That being said. If we can do it for something less than a 2 and 5, then sign me UP

Broncos will regret signing Mike McGlinchey. He's one of the highest paid RT's.
