NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Official 2023 Free Agency Thread

Why is Denver even considering trading their receivers? I mean...Russ needs all the help he can get...
My guess is whether Payton considers him a system fit. Though a first round receiver is SUPPOSED to be a commodity to be treasured. Maybe he determined Jeudy isn't worth it. Maybe Wilson doesn't like him. I know little about his time in Denver. I know Mac would like him, but at what cost?

It’s interesting that he mentions Davenport when no deal for him has been announced. Adam must be waiting for ok to release news of the signing.

My rule of thumb here…. If there’s a big name external FA that we don’t hear anything about by Tuesday night, it’s because the Patriots are negotiating with him. Pats are really huge against media leaks. None of the 2021 contracts were telegraphed ahead of time. Neither was Gilmore in 2017.

We have the cap space in 2023 to do it — and more importantly, a ton a cap space in 2024 for the year 2 backloading amounts.

JG is a Raider. 3/67.5 with 34M guaranteed per Schefter

After they made that insane draft investment in 2018..

Much more - top players Bears havent even started yet.

BB might be in the mix as well..
Need to keep Mac Jones upright Orlando Brown would be a nice foundation piece.

I love that, I haven't heard any mentioned of Orlando Brown, Edmunds or Bates yet. Those are the best 3 on the board for the Pats imo.

ken Jeudy is just about 24 we would have him for a very long time I would not be hung up on Second Rounder for him.
Hmm, I know. He's an actually commodity with NFL film to judge him, vs a wish and a prayer at 46. BUT I just look at the needs we have and have to figure THAT pick could get us a REALLY good quality prospect at CB, TE, Edge, OT, etc. When will be the next time we get 2 picks in the top 50 again? IIIRC it hasn't happened since the JG trade got us #39.

Maybe it would be a good plan if we made the Jeudy trade, then traded down to the mid 20's and replaced the 2 that way. But if a 2 and 5 at the trade deadline had no takers, then in full FA why would the value be the same or greater. Dropping the 2 to a 3, but upping 5 to a 4th and adding a 2024 pick is very fair. The Broncos get 2 shots at 2nd day picks and another in 2024 for a player they CLEARLY don't want. I'd day it was MORE than fair.

BTW- how good, bad or mediocre had Jeudy actually been in denver? Is he still considered a "dynamic" player?
