As it's been mentioned 300 plus pound OL men aren't just sitting around like WRs can be found.. I'm fine with getting a tackle with # 14
Surprisingly, there are quite a few good ones this year.

I don't know why Broderick Jones is considered so much better than Darnell Wright or Dawand Jones who aren't considered first rounders.

But I'm looking at the following tackles and thinking we can grab at least one up in the 1st 3 rounds: Brod Jones, Paris Johnson, Skoronski, Wright, Dawand Jones, Bergeron, Harrison, Duncan, Mauch, Steen and Freeland.

Then there are middle round guys like Haggard, Daniels, Carter Warren and Galvin (who the Patriots already really liked down at the Shrine Bowl).

I'm seeing 11 tackles for the 1st 3 rounds.

A bunch of guys who can start in rounds 4 and 5.

Then a slew of developmentals in 6 and 7.

My strategy would be to look for one in round 2 UNLESS the top 2 CBs are gone and also Paris and Broderick are available. Then take a flyer on a later rounder

Payton said Patricia and him are in talks of him joining that organization in some fashion and his quote was he wouldn’t rule it out it’s a good chance he said.

I’m warming up to Paris Campbell on the Pats, essentially a speedier Bourne who runs crisper routes.
Ok I remember listening to Paytons interview about Patricia. Do you know if Payton is coach and GM like? Campbell yes he would be a great slot option WR.. this off season it's so many things up in the air.. if Myers is seeking 11/12 then I think the team walks away and allows him to get paid elsewhere.. have this odd feeling Bourne is going to be part of some trade package to acquire a player no one saw happening..

That's great research, thanks for that information. I'm sure #14 surely has to be a LT.. we all know up front is where it starts.. I'm sure Klemm is already all over this. I also don't rule out a trade possibility or some FA signing that no one expected for forecasted.

We should be optimistic. Patriot rookie skill players rarely make a dent. But, this year it's like we'll benefit from a bonus group of players.
Thornton, Strong, (and even Marcus Jones) should have plenty of opportunity to produce. All 3 have elite speed at their position, and with an actual OC, I am excited to see how they can be used. I think Jones has a chance to continue in an offensive role.
Strong... now I think people are forgetting about him.. he displayed some serious speed out the back field and on 3rd down.. I believe the job is his to win in camp of 3rd down back... ty Montgomery is still on this roster as well.. 3rd down back and slot WR are the main ingredients that make a patriots offense run..

If we don't re-sign Jones, I agree.
Absolutely draft as much potential talent as we can.. I've made mention that I see Jones here on a 2 yr deal possibly. Front loaded with bones and incentives.. still need some CB depth hope we can get a vet or 2.. 6"0 at least...

We've talked about this before but I think if they see a blue-chip defensive piece (CB, DL, etc.) at 14, they're going to be hard-pressed to pass on him even for a LT.

Question could Higgins be franchise tagged?
You mean next year? It's possible but they'll have a lot tied up in Burrow and Chase at that point.

He got extended time this past year while Chase was out with the hip injury and played like a stud.
Higgins is a burner.. far more than a possession receiver from what I saw.. great hands knows how to use his length and athletic ability.. his presence and likewise to chase presence allows them both to shine.. also he's more 6"5 than anything..

Well we all know picks have been passed on plenty before lol.. we have needs in all those areas you mentioned.. DL is interesting.. guy is 33 and I believe the elder of the D lineman.. I'd like mayo to decrease his snaps so he's fresher during the game.. I would like to deepen our D line some.. we know barmore is going to miss time each season basically..

I look at the top 2 or 3 CBs in this draft and think, well, you won't find anyone like that later on.

Whereas the top tackles are Paris Johnson and Broderick Jones. But you could do just as well with Darnell Wright, Dawand Jones, Matt Bergeron, etc.

As for WRs, the only one that "looks" different than the others is Quentin Johnson, but he isn't being considered at the top as of now. Whether you take Josh Downs or JSN, I don't think you can make a case that there's a big divide.

This is why you have to hope our CB target is there, because we can take a tackle in the 2nd.
Jordan Addison and Jalen Hyatt are going to be Beasts at the next level don't sleep on them.

We still cant downplay those bad Drafts which came back to haunt us minus Brady. On Kenny Golladay I will give him the benefit of the doubt Injuries - Joe Judge as HC and Brian Daboll new HC and system. I think we could realistically make an excuse for K Golladay.
Seems like this board excuses players on other teams and rakes Patriot players over the coals. Golladay was signed the same year as Agholor for 4/72 (as opposed to Agholor's 2/22).

Agholor, whose best year was catching long balls from Carr, got to play with a rookie they wouldn't let throw deep, then in the s***show of last year.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they should re-sign Agholor, but I'll give him more of a benefit of the doubt (given the way smaller contract/expectations) than I'll give Golladay.

Jordan Addison and Jalen Hyatt are going to be Beasts at the next level don't sleep on them.
Hyatt isn't even being considered for the 1st round and Addison has been called a possession #2 receiver. He may be as good as Jakobi Meyers one day in the future.

As for the Patriots and the bad drafts, we have to put that story to bed at this point. It was 5 drafts ago.

It's been years.

2017-2019 were all bad drafts, but have a look at a lot of those players from other teams. Many have moved on.

Plus, 2017 with a 3rd, a 4th and a 6th, it's understandable why that draft sucked. But at least we got D Wise out of it.

It's urgent to string several good drafts together if you're going to compete. But if you look back to, say, 2016, it's ancient history. Sure, pat yourself on the back for drafting All-Pro Joe Thuney in the 3rd round, but he's been on another team for a few years, and hasn't been doing you any good anyway.

Our last 3 drafts have yielded a lot of young players who may help us in the near future: Dugger, Uche, Jennings, Onwenu, Mac Jones, Barmore, Rham Stevenson, Strange, Thornton, Marcus and Jack Jones, a bunch of guys still in development like Pierre Strong, Bledsoe, K Harris, Hines and Zappe.

That's what you need to do... get a core of good young guys.

Hyatt isn't even being considered for the 1st round and Addison has been called a possession #2 receiver. He may be as good as Jakobi Meyers one day in the future.
You're dead wrong on them their ceiling is way higher than Meyers. Also Hyatt will run faster than T Thornton did last year in pre-draft workouts.

Not what the scouts are saying. Possession 2nd receiver type for Addison.

No. There's also nothing to say they don't work out a long-term deal before FA next year.
Ok, as I don't really care to much about cap space, that something NFL owners creates to increase thier profit margin.

Teams can do whatever they want to in order tomake a deal with a player...

Just like I've mentioned Jones can be resigned to a incentive laden, front loaded deal with a large signing bonus.. on a 2 yr deal.. it's been done before with Chung!
