I hope you're right! But Mahomes will be much healthier after two weeks of rest and treatment on his ankle. Other than Kelce, who is basically unstoppable right now, Mahomes could be throwing to the three stooges, he's still going to reach 2-3 TDs, 300 yards and a 100+ passer rating. He's that good. I'm not sure Hurts can match him.
You conveniently left out Mahomes stats in SBs: 2 TDs / 4 INTs, 64.2 rating. That doesn't seem that good to me. KC also had a bunch of 1 score games against non playoff teams, their D is suspect and they're going up against the most complete team in the NFL with good coaches and elite players. If you're so sure about a Chefs win, why don't you put $$ on it. What do you want to bet?

$50,000

I'm well aware of Mahomes ****ty SB stats. Someone needs to show them to the national media who are anointing him the inevitable GOAT.

people are deathly afraid they will surpass the Patriots 6, and Mahomes will equal or exceed the Brady 7... because, he's really that good... He's basically the only guy with a shot to do it, so he gets the hate...
I agree that Mahomes is great. He's going go to be the best QB for at least the next decade.

You want to bet $50k on Mahomes winning the SB? I was going to suggest the loser donating to the forum. I'm sure @Ian would be very happy w/ your donation. That should cover 10 years of his monthly site fees and leave a nice chunk to replace his countertops.

Didn't we do this once before this season? I don't recall what it was about or who won? Must have been me since you never brought it up again.

Nope. You refused to bet.

BTW, Gronk disagrees with you. Given that he's actually played in several SBs and against both these teams, I'll take his prediction over yours.

His reasoning is pretty lame. Or maybe just his delivery.

So what are we doing here? A one time donation to the site? I believe there's a $25 donation option. Are you giving me the measly 2 points?

$50 donation. Zero points. Money line.

Hurts can just hand off. Throw safe passes. Maybe run a little. They don't need him to be awesome. The rest of the team is good enough to get the job done.
I expect Hurts to run a lot which will be a positive for the Eagles.

It's down to (-1.5) right now. Pretty much a pick'em anyway. So it's a fair bet.

Place your bets, gentlemen!

He agreed:

1. Chefs win SB, @venecol donates $50 to @patsfans.com

2. Eagles win SB, @crawhammer donates $50 to @patsfans.com

Rules:
1. No points
2. No ****ing excuses (refs, injuries)
3. No welching (or you get your balls cut off)

Point of clarification: are the Chefs in the SB?

Hurts is averaging 5.6 Y/A and 138 Y/G in the postseason. And he sucked in his final two regular season starts as well. He IS the key to the outcome of this game. He HAS TO elevate his game way above his play in his last four. Mahomes averages 2.5 TDs, 300 Y/G and has a 106.1 passer rating in the postseason. He is going to have a good game and the Chiefs are going to score 24+ points. That's great about the Eagles line advantages, the respective quarterback play will determine the outcome of this game. If Hurts isn't at least very good (so much better than he's been recently), the Eagles WILL lose.

Giants with a painfully mediocre Eli beat the 2007 Pats because they controlled both lines of scrimmage. And the Eagles are better on both lines than the 2007 Giants. Also Mahomes like Brady has a high ankle sprain which is creepy.

I mean, Tyreek Hill was a BIG reason why the Chiefs won against the Niners. The Chiefs were DEAD and then Hill gets wide open on a broken 3rd and forever and it all changed. And if Mahomes loses I bet he goes on twitter to troll about it because he's an idiot.

Gonna triple post.

Remember that betting lines, ESPECIALLY for the Super Bowl where absolutely everyone on earth bets on the game and not just the degenerates, is based on the books trying to ensure they get even money on both teams. It's not a predictor of who wins. I bring this up because HERE as Pats fans we dealt with this year after year after year where the Pats were in the Super Bowl and we (me included!) got mad that we were only favored by like 1 point or god forbid were an underdog. It's not about the game itself, its about the amount of money coming in.

Also Chiefs were favored by 4 against the Bucs 2 years ago so lol

If Tyreek was on this Chiefs team they beat the Eagles easily.

I like the Chiefs to win this by a fairly comfortable margin, like 10-13 points. I heard the Eagles had an easy schedule, but ************, you've got to be kidding me. Not that a team needs a battle tested schedule to beat a great team in the SB, but it does make me wonder. The QBs they faced this year, in subjective descending order: Rodgers, Prescott (2x), pre-breakout Lawrence, Cousins, Goff, Murray, Tannehill, D. Jones (2X), Ryan, Mills, Wentz, Fields, Dalton, Pickett, Heinicke, Webb, Josh Johnson. That's some serious dogshit right there.

Also I still never trust these running QBs. I like Hurts, but I question if he can really pick apart the Chiefs if they can contain the run (a big IF but bottom line is KC can still move the ball if they're one-dimensional while PHI probably can't.)

This isn't a deep analysis...I just liked the 49ers chances against the Chiefs a lot more and sense the Eagles aren't as great as they're cracked up to be.
