They drafted him to be a WR because that's what poistion he was his rookie year.
... he truly had no idea what his pro career would turn into when the “508” number (Foxboro’s area code) showed up on his phone on April 26, 2009, during the seventh round of the draft. Edelman answered, and a Belichick aide told him they were about to draft him and handed the phone to Belichick. Per Edelman, Belichick said:

“Hey well, uh, you’re a hell of a football player. We don’t know what you’re gonna play but we’ll see you at rookie camp.”

I really like the idea of going back to an OC, last year was confusing for the fans, never mind the players. Klemm is rumored to be the prospective line coach things are falling in line.
Mayo DC and Judge ST's Coach will make this a much different team next year.. one of the few times the BB scheme has not lived up to its billing, glad common sense prevailed.

As much as we want to spin things in Pats direction, it definitely wasn't a positive relationship... May not be a dealbreaker.
Hopkins is not coming to Patriots period. It could not be clearer from the article that he does not trust O’Brien.

I am of two minds about it. Is he better than MP...yeah probably. Does he have familarity with Mac...a little.

Now however you have been going on and on about wanting an OC. Now you have one. OC's don't catch the ball. OC's don't run the route. OC's don't block. In addition, you have been whining about not havving an OC for months and months. Now you have no reason to whine. More pressure? Probably.... Like I have said many times on here. You can have the best OC in the league. If your line is porous and you have no time....well. #GoodLuckWithAllOfThat

Hopkins age bothers me he seems like a two year rental at best but I wouldn't give up a valuable Second Rounder this year for him. Maybe a Third and a a Fourth if it comes to that.

Thing is a 2 year commitment and a 2nd or 3rd rounder may be what the pats are looking for so the older guys may fit their taste more. The younger wr will all require a 1st at least and a long term expensive deal . We’ve traditionally been very conservative with our wr acquisitions and we don’t know if any of those guys will be elite level wr’s here to make the commitment.

Last image I have of him is that awful fumble against the Pats. The injuries, though, are what jump out at me. Last 3 years, I'm seeing Hamstring, Ankle, Neck, Lower Lumbar, Chest Rib, and Knee. Entering his 11th year, this is a dude trajecting down, imho.

I feel like I've been seeing a lot of PI and illegal contact not getting called this year. Probably just selective memory, but it's just been blatant.
You must watch a lot of Patriot games. Heh, this really looked like a season where things were tilted against the Patriots.

It wasn't just the NFL office reviewing things, but the refs holding up play when there's was no red flag for a challenge, but what caught my attention overall was the constant holding calls on Trent Brown and Wynn. Honestly, I thought they held less than the opposing OTs against our guys.

No Zappe wont.

The only way that Jones is not the starter is if he cant go. Kraft already stated months ago that he wanted BOB in 2023 to coach QB Jones. Today, BOB is in house. Done deal. Kraft also stated that he wants BOB as HC when BB is out. The longer the playoff win drought lasts the more Kraft gains power and control from BB.
c'mon johnny one note. After all this time you should know that while Kraft make public comments like the FAN he is; the ENTIRE football operation is run IN FULL by Bill. like any fan Kraft gets an opinion, but as a good businessman he KNOWS that when you hire a guy to do a job you LET him do the job. You can 'suggest' but you don't tell. IF you don't like the results then you simply either fire the guy and replace him or do it yourself.

Bob can fire Bill anytime he wants, but I don't take his public "football comments" without a grain of salt.

BTW- can you get me a link to the quote where Kraft stated that he wanted BOB

Their...ummm...production?
So you expected production out of Izzo, Keene, LaCosse, Watson, Asiasi? For old times sakes, what were their nicknames?

Not sure how much of this is on him or Patty... (the TEs running into each other)

But it’s not true either. 11 and 81 are running slants. 38 is the flat. Each of those routes are available at 4 yards if they are open.
16 and 85 are running complementary routes to get coverage away from those 3 or get a big play if coverage leave as them.

I’m thinking the plan is to build around Mac.
- Trade for Hopkins (Yes, I know the history with BOB, but they are professionals)
- Re-Sign J. Meyers. Jones #1 target. Security blanket.
- Hire an experienced OL coach to develop Strange and get this line performing at its best.
- Draft a T in the 1st. Depending on who’s available maybe a small trade down, pickup Broderick Jones and some more draft capital.
- Although not seen as a need, watch out for Alabama RB Jahmyr Gibbs in round 2. Great hands/Receiver out of backfield.

IMO of course
I drool at the thought of Jahmr Gibbs as a 3rd down back in the Pat’s offense, a true replacement for James White. But I actually feel Gibbs would be more of a threat as a true RB. That being said, I think they got their version of Gibbs in Strong last year, great speed and good hands, though Gibbs is a better receiver by a lot. I can’t see them drafting Gibbs.

It's not that difficult really, just look at the mode or median of the scores and you get a better indication of what the team is than the average used in the stats. The mode could be skewed but a lot of times its close to the median.

And this, folks, is why he is the bean counter of the Casino.

Math whiz and kneecap buster all in one.

Interesting shout that BoB may go back to the Tide for an offensive draft pick. Watched most of the Alabama games this season and the offence was really Bryce young with some help from Jahmyr Gibbs. WRs were nowhere near the level of previous years i.e. Smith, Wiliams, Ruggs, Waddell, Mechie, Jones, Ridley etc. Not sure who else would be on his radar. OL wasn't great.

Yeah it's the defensive side that has most of the draftable players - Anderson, Ricks, the two Safeties, the LB Toto...

I would be cool with Ricks at 46 if CB isn't addressed at 14.

I don't disagree with you there (that the tweet is incorrect). I just used it as an example of the 2 TEs running into each other (as potential evidence of bad TE or O coaching), as I couldn't find a video of it (and am too lazy atm to make it).
