was reported by Chris Simms and Florio with the coach presumably Josh McDaniels...

If true I'm not sure Mac will be back next year, and I find this report hard to believe , although I do recall previous reports of Mac going over Bill's head to Kraft as well. Not a good look for your starting qb if this is true.

It does kinda feel like there's a not-super-unlikely chance that Mac's not here in 2023... Not just because Bill doesn't want him, but because he also wants to leave. This report is a little strange but I could see it... The way Bill talked about him a couple days ago was weird, kind of like he was talking about a player who wasn't on the team anymore.

Apparently, salsa and marinara stains on the playbook were so bad some route trees were obliterated.

Can't Mac just call someone he respects and who knows the team and personalities involved just to vent and get some perspective?
I wonder who that would be?

My guess is that the second that Jones gets a chance to leave he is going to. It doesn't matter if he completely flames out or he gets a real #1 WR and an OC and becomes a really good QB here. I think how he was treated this year by the coaching staff and the fans has soured him on this team. Whether he deserved the treatment or not (and he clearly didn't deserve a lot of it).

So what are the options in this scenario?

Trade him for a 2nd (maybe), move up to get the QB you want (if necessary), then bring in either Jimmy G or Mayfield?

I don't see Mac not being here. He could have transferred anytime he wanted from Bama and didn't. He stuck it out, beat the number 1 QB prospect in the country for the starting job and won a national championship. Doesn't seem to be within his character to quit and move on.

With that said would not be shocked to see Baker or Jimmy here next year to compete for the job. Or a trade if Belichick wants to move on.

IMO, Mac is here to start, may draft a developmental guy in the mid to later round and we play ball in September.

Wait I thought those were **** stains. Matty P goes through a lot of TP and sometimes you have to adapt and overcome!

I agree... and it's really too bad. It makes me wonder if Bill feels it's best to just reset at the QB position. Mac wants to be with Josh and Josh wants a cheap QB who can be productive in his system. Bill can get a decent pick back, sign his own former QB-in-waiting Jimmy G (who is still only 31) and use their pretty nice draft haul and cap space this year to rebuild.

If they got a 2nd back for Mac they'd have #14, two 2nds, a 3rd, three 4ths, a 5th, three 6ths and a 7th, which is quite a sum of picks.

If true we can all look at that whole MNF clusterf***k of a QB situation v CHI was the straw that broke the camel's back.

As bad as the Offensive Coaching Staff was Mac didn't do em any favors with his play or lack their of. I can't see BB rolling with a QB like Mac with his HC future on the line.

Chris "Lying Useless Twat" Simms? I wouldn't believe that surplus ejaculate down Phil's leg if he said the sun was rising at 7 a.m.
Agree, but it is also Florio reporting it along with him.
