Saints

People always fall back on this for whatever reason and it's getting really old. You could say that for a lot of coaches in the league - Steelers, Seahawks, Lions, Giants, Jaguars.

At the end of the day we have a below 500 record in 3 full seasons. Eventually the excuse making needs to stop.
I think people get too comfortable with saying well without Bill Belichick this team would’ve been in deep trouble… The past three years have been an abomination of coaching mistakes and errors… Look at cam newton… Look at Matt Patricia… You can go on and on… But BB has made some of the worst coaching decisions within the past three years and it’s his time to go

No it was like the beginning of the season... You get big plays but you also get ints
Mac was better today than early season, making a number of good throws. The first int was the one that occurred when the game was in the balance. The others were desperation throws where a miracle was needed due to time remaining. Watching all the other teams big plays are made by the receiver taking the ball away or separating from the DB. Agholor did nothing to compete for the ball or prevent the int.

better game than I expected. A couple of errors and it could have been a better finish, I guess Slate and McCourty are finished. Good game for both, involved in several turnovers. Sad to see them go, but they’ll be Pats HOF members down the road. Offense looked better today. Something’s to build on.

Agholor....another one who needs to go

Proud of the way we fought today, that was a tough environment and maybe the league’s best team. If not for 2 special teams blunders who knows how it goes.

Achord is hopefully the second to be relieved of his duties after Patricia. 3rd game this year they have had a major hand in a loss. 2nd year in a row they contributed to multiple losses. He needs to go, st has never been this big of a problem in the bb era. Move judge to st.

Mac showed up today I thought. Really only the first pick was bad, then the last 2 were desperation. He converted some 4th downs and kept us in it as well as he could. He’s clearly not able to go toe to toe with josh allen at this point, especially without as good weapons as josh has. Looking forward to seeing him with a real oc hopefully next year.

Woulda liked pkayoffs but this is probably how a playoff game would go. We’d battle but find ways to lose, story of this season. Disappointing one but looking forward to seeing what we can do next year with more cap space and really in position to bolster the team. Going into the year most of us saw this coming, at best we were winning 10 games and losing round one or 2.

Per overthecap, will cost the team an additional 1.655m in cap space if they cut Jonnu because of the restructuring they did in training camp. Clearly the worst contractual move they made this offseason. He was the wrong guy to restructure - you restructure a player who is doing well and you expect to be there in 2023. All they had was a terrible 2021 and a “promising” 2022 camp. Ugh. Probably worthwhile to keep him through 2023 training camp and deal with the situation then.
Big picture, it doesn’t really matter. If they want to cut Smith, they can just restructure somebody else to push present cap hits into the future to offset bringing Smith’s future cap hits into the present.

The goal is just to avoid being the Saints, annually restructuring everybody.

NE had every reason to get beat down today but they fought and made it a game. Bills are the superior team and they were emotionally amped up for this one. Bill had the team ready to play and they came out and fought well.

Obviously the two special teams TDs they gave up were back breakers and the horrific officiating were too much to overcome.

Looking forward to the coaching changes, hopefully we get a real OC and a new special teams coach.

Team is top 5 I believe in cap space available and only two big free agents coming up. Next years roster should have upgraded talent across the board.

Cheers to a successful offseason, this team isn’t far off from being legit contenders in the AFC.

It's early but that schedule is brutal

That looks like a tough schedule

I don’t think Belichick will be coaching the Patriots next year. A collision is coming with the Krafts demanding Jerod Mayo be named DC over Stevie Mullet Belichick.

Bill will quit.

Then we scramble to hire a new head coach.
I would love to bet on this with you.

I think we can safely say he was drafted too early. We were told he was a late second early third rounder tops based on his elite athleticism. But needs more strength dealing with the bill rush. And he played inconsistently.
you can pretty much say that about 90% of Pat's picks. Mr Arrogance has to prove he's smarter than everyone else. Not working out so well.

I could certainly see him looking at the Rams situation and saying "all of our draft picks are gone, Stafford is brittle, and my owner is an A-hole that everyone hates. This place sucks, how do I get outta here?" Then he has an auspicious conversation with Mr. Kraft about how they need an OC and that Bill only has a couple of years left. Suddenly McVay is talking about wanting a "work life balance" or whatever and stepping away...

Just not sure how it works out contractually since he's under contract for 4 more years in LA. Would he need to retire, be replaced, then un-retire and go elsewhere? Seems a bit messy.
It’s been talked about a lot that if McVsy leaves the Rams it will be to join a network as a commentator. The NFL Network is saying today that McVay will take time once the season is done to see if he wants to continue coaching.

It would make no sense for McVay to leave L.A to take an OC job. Why would he when he would be first in line for any HC job openings. And why would he take a big pay decrease to be our OC?

If McVay isn’t coaching the Rams next year he’ll remain in LA doing commentating.

Everyone put your tinfoil hats on...

Patriots implement zone run schemes this offseason, seemingly for no clear reason... don't name an OC, implement Patricia as playcaller... seems like a wasted year... almost like they're waiting for someone who's not available yet... everyone thinking O'Brien, right? But what if they implemented those schemes to prepare the guys for their 2023 OC Sean McVay...

Okay take off the hats now. That sh*t definitely didn't happen.
What about Jimmy?

Jimmy ran the offense that BB is using now.

Pats are in a tough spot right now. They are a 8 to 10 win caliber team and it’s tough to draft elite players from the middle of the draft. They’ll never bottom out as long as BB is here. Mediocrity isn’t great in the NFL.
And it'll be harder to get big name free agents since belichick usually does not like to outbid other teams in free agency. And they'd rather go to Buffalo, Kansas City, Cincy, Jacksonville, LA, Philly, etc.

Not accurate. They doled out the most money in history 2 years ago
