This is an opportunity for the pats . Imagine a win on this stage against this team to seal your ticket to the playoffs. I kinda start to get pumped up and then i see visions of myles bryant falling flat on his face in coverage.

The 506 TV maps update has been delayed pending decisions on Buffalo & Cincinnati, but I noticed that both Fox and CBS are carrying doubleheaders

plus (good for me) Miami-NYJ is on FOX while NE is on CBS!

NE/Buff has the #1 CBS crew and it should be the game with by far the widest coverage. Unless you are near BAL, CIN, CLE, PIT, HOU, or IND you may be good to go.

1PM CBS games:

New England @ Buffalo
Jim Nantz, Tony Romo

Baltimore @ Cincinnati
Kevin Harlan, Trent Green

Cleveland @ Pittsburgh
Greg Gumbel, Adam Archuleta

Houston @ Indianapolis
Spero Dedes, Jay Feely <---- LOL, lamest game ever, they know where they stand!

Wonder if this is the week we’ll see some trick plays or something ballsy like an onsides kick

If the Bills and Chiefs won out, they would be both be 14-3 with Buffalo getting the tie breaker. However, Cincy currently sits at 11-4 and if they won out they would be 13-4 at best. So the only team that controlled its own destiny was Buffalo. KC and Cincy weren't in position to get the 1 seed without help.
Yea never mind, only Buffalo controlled their destiny. I forgot Cincy also needed KC to lose.

Such a sorry state for us as pats fans to be hoping for other results when we control our destiny with a win over Buffalo.

The players should get pumped up and know it's them vs the rest of The country rooting against them . Winning this could create a new chapter for the franchise otherwise next year will also be an also ran story and only thing left to cheer would be Bill breaking Shula's record while team gyrates down the abyss with no post season for years.

Hamlin asked the Bills to play for him

This is not gonna be easy at all. We will get their best shot, a fired up crowd. A tough hill

And that's the way it should be. A prime opportunity for the Patriots to come together, rise to the challenge and grow as a team.

Then if by the grace of God we win it'll be all like "well sure, kicked a great team while they're still not right."

The other benefit of the #2 seed for Buffalo is their wild card opponent. With the 7-team format intact, as the #2 seed they're playing NWE, MIA or PIT (or remotely JAX). With the #3 seed they're probably playing Baltimore with Lamar presumably back.

I don’t think there is much difference between #4-#9 in the AFC. The Bills, Bengals, and the Chiefs should be able to make it to divisional weekend regardless. The most dangerous team is Miami, IMO. They are the only one with horses on offense to threaten the top 3 AFC teams, IMO.

It's one extreme to the other. There was talk of Buffalo being too traumatized to play this weekend, or the weekend after that, or until who knows when. Now all of the sudden they're going to destroy their next opponent in 3 days because they're riding an "emotional onslaught!"
Oh the media is going to be shoving this down our throats from here until (if) Buffalo is eliminated. It is going to get pretty sickening.

Bryant had his best game in a while on Sunday though….

Gets another shot to prove his mettle against a significant upgrade from Skylar Thompson or Teddy Bridgewater.

The link I shared indicated that both the NFC and AFC would have 8 playoff teams. You are right it would be unfair to KC.
F*ck KC. Anyway, they're the ones that benefit by cancelling the game since it clears path for #1 seed that gives them HFA.

Hmm... if they play this game, there'll be a lot for the Pats to overcome besides their own shortcomings.
On the Road
Rallying cry
Every call will probably be for the Bills
Calm cool weather for JA

Dolphins, Steelers, and Titans all losing might be better odds. Still got a shot either way.

I forgot about the ref factor. Ugh.

No way do they expand to 8 teams in each conference. That would be way unfair, especially, to the #1 seed in the NFC.
I would think they would position it as "exceptional circumstances." Not anyone else's fault that this happened but also not Buffalo and Cincinnati's fault that they went through this. So the rest of the league does them a solid by dumping the #1 seed bye and adding a wild card team, the Buffalo-Cincinnati game is canceled, Cincinnati takes one on the chin by probably being the lower seed than Buffalo even though they were on track to win that game and pass Buffalo in the seeding, and on we go.

Then in the 2023 season the NFL says "since you guys loved the 8 seed playoff last year so much, we're gonna make it permanent!" 4 wild card teams become the new normal. And they get a bunch of extra cash from an extra two playoff games on TV.
