NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 17: NFL Other Games

Lots of chatter out there.

Troy Vincent is denying that the NFL gave the players 5 minutes to warm up and resume play. Some legit media types are calling BS.

Rumor is that the Bills and Bengals players refused to go back out and play. They called the game and basically said F Off to your 5 minute warmup. We just watched a fellow player go through 8 minutes of CPR because his heart stopped. The Bengals HC was also not on board with such a short time to get back in game condition and more importantly, resuming play after what just happened on the field.

No Bills or Bengals players were allowed to speak to the media. Maybe it was because of Hamlin or maybe it was because of the 5 minute thing was true and the NFL is circling the wagons.

Or maybe they just said F off to your media circus, we just watched a fellow player go through 8 minutes of CPR because his heart stopped and we are focused on him not feeding your frenzy.

I think Cincinnati and Buffalo should agree to a tie, coin flip then decides their relative seedings. If they can, they play this weekend and no game this week. Not fair to either team but sometimes life throws curveballs and best to go with the floe.

2 forfeits seems very unfair, unless the players from the Bills simply feel they can not play and I would respect that.

As others have mentioned, forfeits are not just unfair to the Bills but to the teams vying for playoff spots.

If we are being honest, this forum would be livid if Buffalo was playing Miami or Pittsburgh next week and they gave that team a free win.

I got certified in first aid and cpr awhile ago while I was pursuing a master divers license, but have not kept up on the certification

I’ve studied YouTube videos etc on it and also how to perform cpr on toddlers/small children, and how to handle them choking

I still don’t feel prepared, but I’m probably way more prepared than the average person

However the course wasn’t free, I had to pay but it’s some of the best money you can spend to learn a skill that could save someone’s life

it sucks but I think tonight makes the most sense for them to resume playing. move Pats/Bills to Monday afternoon (to avoid conflict with the national championship game). anything else just messes up the schedule.

My wife got scammed a couple of years ago in a go fund me. A girl or someone that said she was one wanted donations for her pet that needed surgery. Lots of people gave and the surgery was reported done. A week later "she" was back at it claiming there were complications and would need a lot more. She sent pictures of a vet clinic where she was kept out of until she paid them. Then go fund me notified everyone that it was a scam. Makes me wonder der how many of them are real

Yeah, it's either a Bills forfeiture or the game gets played by tomorrow night at the absolute latest, but then that means the Bills are then playing NE with a very short amount of time between games, even less than a typical Sunday afternoon-to-Thursday night short week.

My guess is that they will forfeit and regroup. Then the question becomes if they want to play hard next week to try to regain the #1 seed and a week off the following week if both KC and Cincinnati both lose in the final week, which isn't likely. They may prefer to rest starters, take it easy, stay parked in the #3 seed which will most likely draw the Ravens in the wild card round, which shouldn't be a problem for them.

They're not they super-super wealthy owners with lots of additional revenue streams. Losing out on a gate would be a big financial hit for them.

the pegulas are worth 6.7 billion... 11th or 12th richest owners in the league, right behind arthur blank... but i dont think the bills will forfeit any games, so the point is moot

Umm.. It's highly unlikely that Hamlin sent out the update given that he was intubated.

The guy was problem with team officials and any family who had accompanied the team at the hospital when the Doctor(s) gave them an update.

I meant it to read "Hamlin's guy". It was obviously late, but clearly I knew the kid was unconscious - just didn't read it fully before hitting reply.

dive master or master diver? either way, thats cool, and either cert level is a great accomplishment you should be proud of

I had to get certified for cpr/first aid for rescue diver, then maintained it through my tenure as an instructor... have let it lapse though... think I am going to retake the classes...
