Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Dolphins

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Yeah the marked improvements in Daniel Jones and Trevor Lawrence and Mac's regression suggest that coaching actually matters in QB development.

My vote is that Joe Judge is an even worse problem than Patricia: both Daniel Jones and Mac Jones failed to develop under him, and he was responsible for the terrible 2019 WR room. If he stays, give him Special Teams next year.
Daniel Jones played very well today. I’d be surprised in Danilo believes he’s the QB for the Giants. I see a lot CB if they’re games. He’s not very good

Watching the Dolphins offense is so conflicting. You can see how the design leads to moving the ball and making plays. Then you watch Mac Jones shot putting it around the lot and you wonder if their design would even help him. It wont, he sucks and that should be pretty obvious to any honest football fan. Could he be better under a better offensive staff, sure. But is he the answer, sure, just not sure what the question is.......
??? You came up with this on a day when our offense had all the big plays? The Miami O was very fortunate. They dumped the ball a million times because of our LBs. 29 yard check downs. Anyone can do that if they’re going against guys who can’t cover. Or if they’re starting on the opposing team’s 40 because the punter consistently nets 25 yards

Yes, didn’t know big plays was the barometer for offensive performance. Silly me, thought it was scoring points. Currently the patriots don’t play complementary football, mostly due to their incompetence on offense. Miami has a much better offensive scheme than what the Pats offer. Sadly even if the Pats had a competent qb, this game wouldn’t have been this close. Is it the QB, is it the coordinator no it’s actually both. They both suck and it’s pretty obvious. The pats are actually the more talented team. Yet, they found a way to scrape by in a game they could have just as easily lost. But those big plays, whoopie!!

If you feel the same about Mac after the game, you do not know what you are looking at. Mac took another step forward today, but you didn't take a step forward at all - same old BB hate - let's hope Mac keeps moving forward while you are stuck in a rut.
Mac put up two tds. He took a sack killing fg position. He continually takes sacks. This season has been cliche... The offense puts up minimal pts in the first half. If it wasn't for the defense they'd probably be a top 5 pick. Take out all the defensive tds and this offense is probably worst in the league

Agreed. But Mac was better today. More comfortable. Deeper pass attempts. Not acting out. Baby steps.

It’s a little better than it was a few weeks ago. Some more downfield and intermediate passes. I do have some serious gripes about having Agholor ahead of Bourne on the depth chart. I’m all for Thornton getting the reps but Bourne belongs on the field. He can help us if you just let him play the amount of snaps Tyquan and Meyers get.
This... Agholor keeps Bourne out and thats criminal at this point of time .

Agholor is wr 4 on this team behind Meyers, Bourne and Thornton.

I want first two plays to be pass throws and then do the runs intermittently. That's how you beat bills By running up the score.

If Mac can't beat the bills with his arm, it's game over. It needs to be a shootout with our defense chipping in with some interceptions . Offense would need to play big brother in the next game and needs to be a coming into party game for offense.

Matt Patricia should just go bonkers and go all out. It's post season now for us . So just use all tricks in the bag . No point being conservative. Unleash the beast. Play like you have nothing to lose .

When did he give up a sack killing fg position?

He did make some plays. For me too little too late. In the end it resulted in two tds and a long fg and he took a sack on another

3rd & 1 at MIA 33

(11:53 - 2nd) M.Jones sacked at MIA 45 for -12 yards (E.Roberts).
Here's another sack where there was no hot read. 4th & 4 at MIA 29
(2:28 - 4th) (Shotgun) M.Jones sacked at MIA 39 for -10 yards (Z.Sieler).

Too late for what? Mac is progressing finally. He is throwing to all three levels and moving OK in the pocket. Mac is more comfortable and not getting lost in his head. Sure there is a lot of growth needed but at least it is moving forward. Hopefully it will stay that way. We will see.

Mac looked very solid early on, and pretty good late in the game. He was shaky in the middle. Overall it was good enough. Not good enough to beat Buffalo, gotta improve.

I'm pretty shocked that people are praising Jones in this game...

It's just another game that he was helped greatly by the defense...sure he made a few plays, but had too many bad balls, and not just the ones behind the RB or at receivers feet. He is still staring down the pass rush whenever he is under any duress, killing the play immediately.

The ball to Jakobi on the final drive was way too late getting there, and probably would not have been caught if not for the PI. Overall a pretty unimpressive outing aside from one drive.

Hopefully he can play better next week.

Trading for Chubb was idiotic. Overrated player and injured again.

Beat buffalo next week against Josh Allen and you'll sway me. So far the majority of their victories if not all are against backup qbs.

What's that got to do with Mac? You're feeling good because they won but the reality is he led the offense to 17 pts. Midway through the 3rd they had 10 pts. You're not gonna go far averaging 20 pts a game in this league. The rules are slanted towards the offense. This isn't the 1990 giants.

Completely agree with you. For a guy whose calling card was accuracy he's been way off. I think they David Carr'd him physically and mentally.

I was just going to say how refreshing it is to notice usual suspects from the Mac Jones Haters *********** Club being conspicuously absent after a much-needed win. Then THIS crap surfaces from BigglesWorthless and the appropriately named Hades. Some timely advice for each of you negative Nancies: go soak your head. And remember to sanitize the toilet bowl when finished.

Was at the game, first in a decade. My 7yr olds first game, epic day. 12th row Pats side, perfect view of Dugger Pick 6. Observations: Booing the offense is pathetic and needs to stop. Thought offense spacing was better today, timing and sync better, more throws from Mac off correct step and cadence. Rhamondre's balance is incredible for guy his size, he is a big dude when you see him in person vs Harris for example, who's not small himself. Thought d-line was excellent in run game, didn't see burst off the line for Judon I thought you would see in person. A Uche has Von Miller like jump off the line, bit mans is he small. Edge just didnt get great pressure consistently, kudos to whoever replaced Armstead. Dugger's football instincts are terrific, that pick was coming in as a fastball, great balance to pick it and return it. A couple of other plays where his combo of size and instincts reminded me of Rodney. Nice to see Thornton involved, ridiculous Bourne is behind Agholor, Bourne with ball in his hands is actually dangerous YAC risk for defense. Meyers, great hands, routes, but man he is slow as molasses. Lastly, missed XP, running into kicker, someone behind me was like man Brady leaves, and suddenly we can't play special teams? Really odd, but that is less understandable problem over last few years than offense. Think Achords clock should be at zero after this year

7 pts beginning of the game. 7 at the end. Middle of the game? It really comes down to scoring points from the offense. That's the only see stat that matters. You can't take a sack when you're in fg range
