I wonder what the odds on Jakobi Meyers throwing a pick-6 to Chandler Jones with time expiring were. +999,000,000?

Only the same group of people that call for him to be cut/benched/traded every other post

we should start scouting college QBs that are exceptional open field tacklers
It might help, especially if they can throw more than 13/31/131/0 against a PATHETIC PASS DEFENSE.
Just keep massaging those balls, maybe you'll get something and be rich someday....bah

Mac Jones is a p*ssy. Plain and simple... He has zero toughness. Do something....
Brady wouldn't gave made that tackle either. Nor would Manning. Nor would Rodgers. Nor would Mahomes.

Allen might but he is crazy like that. Nobody in the league is expecting their QB to be in a tackling drill with Chandler Jones. And if they are something really messed up happened

With @ Indy , Lambs at home and @ Bronks I would tend to agree.

MIA needs to lose out and we need to go 2-1.

According to NBC, the Pats now have a 22% to make the playoffs - "the biggest loser of the day."

I think Myers expends all his thought power on catching the ball. After that, his brain turns off.

Before this play, I thought he was a poor man’s Doug Baldwin- without the speed. Now . . .

This is so strange. For 20 years we have (rightfully) praised Belichick for putting his players in the best position to succeed. To coach them to have awareness in any situation. To play SMART football. That was as dumb as it gets. And your take is the coaches don't have anything to do with it.
My take is that a player lost his mind.

You think there was something they could have said to prevent that.

The only thing that would've prevented that would be to take a knee

This loss sums up the team's attitude and fire. There is none and there is no leadership. They are all freelancing and blaming coaches when they arent even doing a half perfect job of executing plays.

You guys are really saying this seriously????

Clearly Andrews does not want to throw a teammate under the bus.
I just can’t fathom Stevenson and Meyers losing their minds like that unless the coaches told them it was a lateral drill.

Get a new OC, trade Mac Jones or have a legit open competition in training camp that I am confident Bailey Zappe will win, and bring aboard OTs. Then good can come from the Patricia clown show.

No wonder my Detroit buddies, mild mannered guys all, grew to detest Phat Matt.

It happened.

Mostly agree. That's a tough overturn for the official with the play called a TD on the field. That said, to me it looked like an incompletion.

Still, Mac's got to at least slow Chandler down a tick. He got completely steamrolled.

To me, Meyers looked more like Jim Marshall than a smart D1 college QB on that play. WTF was he thinking? What was Mac going to do with that ball if he caught it.

that was utterly pathetic.

the wheels finally came off the wagon.

based on that game, i think Matt Patricia needs to be fired today. dont let the ****er back on the plane. leave him in vegas.

let the tight end guy call the rest of the year.

Actually two players made stupid plays there. The team is sloppy, undisciplined, and plays stupid football. That is a reflection on the coaching.

When people say "Mac sucks bring in Zappe", it's code for "the team isn't doing well and I don't know football enough to see everything wrong with the team, so I'm going to blame the QB and pretend the other guy is a savior".

There was a not so small vocal minority here in 2019 screaming that Brady was the cause of all are problems and that he was done and it was time to move on. Many of these are the same people. They were also the same people that were screaming for Stidham.

There's so much more beyond Mac that it's stupid

-Agholor and Thorton not making plays basic NFL receivers should make
-Patricia's extremely terrible play calling
-Screwing up a drive on the one by total coaching ineptitude.
-giving the Raiders the sideline on that final drive so they had time
-Multiple big chunk burn plays being conceded at the start and end of the game
-a lack of situational awareness from players, specifically in regards to that final play.

I get people are mad, but there is so much wrong with this team beyond Jones that leads to losses like this. If we score when we are on the 1... when Jones got the TD twice, where are stupid coaches screwed us out of one and are TE who has zero awareness screwed us out of another, that's game. If Agholor or Thorton make two catches any WR2 can make... that's field goal range and probably the game. If we took away the sideline on the last drive, the Raiders probably do not pull that off (bad call aside).

Pretty much this. You can start from the end and be like "that was the dumbest thing I've ever seen"
Then you gotta say "well they kinda let the Raiders score in the closing moments to tie it"
Then you gotta say "well, there was a bad call from the refs"
Then you gotta say "well, the defense failed to close on a 4th and 10"
That's the thing about these losses. You can follow a schedule of "miscues" all the way back to the beginning of the game. That is the hallmark of an ineffectual team, not any single person's fault.

The stupid decision was started by not just kneeling on the ball and going to OT.
bingo, no idea why they are handing the ball off there. What was there to gain?
