Bringing up Zappe no matter the situation shows that you can only hold one thought in your head at a time. Every ****ing time anything goes poorly people are on here posting about Zappe, it’s so annoying. You saw Zappe in two and a half games, the Pats had been scouting Zappe and Mac for years and also watch them practice everyday in closed sessions you have no way of seeing. Thinking that you can obviously see something the organization, or scouts at every level with a million times more information disagree with and then repeating it over and over is troll behavior.
When people say "Mac sucks bring in Zappe", it's code for "the team isn't doing well and I don't know football enough to see everything wrong with the team, so I'm going to blame the QB and pretend the other guy is a savior".
There was a not so small vocal minority here in 2019 screaming that Brady was the cause of all are problems and that he was done and it was time to move on. Many of these are the same people. They were also the same people that were screaming for Stidham.
There's so much more beyond Mac that it's stupid
-Agholor and Thorton not making plays basic NFL receivers should make
-Patricia's extremely terrible play calling
-Screwing up a drive on the one by total coaching ineptitude.
-giving the Raiders the sideline on that final drive so they had time
-Multiple big chunk burn plays being conceded at the start and end of the game
-a lack of situational awareness from players, specifically in regards to that final play.
I get people are mad, but there is so much wrong with this team beyond Jones that leads to losses like this. If we score when we are on the 1... when Jones got the TD twice, where are stupid coaches screwed us out of one and are TE who has zero awareness screwed us out of another, that's game. If Agholor or Thorton make two catches any WR2 can make... that's field goal range and probably the game. If we took away the sideline on the last drive, the Raiders probably do not pull that off (bad call aside).
