Josh is not walking thru that door.

People calling for Skippy’s head the past few years but would now accept him back…arms wide open….gotta love us pats fans! :O
I'll own up to that. I wanted him gone. I wanted him gone the previous time he left as well. I didn't want him back from that earlier failure. I've never thought he was very good. However, never in my wildest dreams did I think that BB would replace him with the disfunctional mess that we now have. So, if he can bring some focus to the headless chicken that is our current offense then, yes, bring him back.

Compared to Phat Matt and Judge, McD would be an improvement, no?
Is a 2-time failed head coach better than 2 one-time failed head coaches?

Not sure why so many want McDaniels back as the offense was pedestrian last year.

And please spare yourself the effort in saying they were "6th in points scored". They were a limited offense who inflated most of their stats against really bad teams.
Right now, the Pats and Raiders are tied with the 14th ranked NFL offenses.

I wish success to Josh in the Raiders or elsewhere, want the Pats going in a different direction, ehh not exactly the current direction either.
Well the direction offensively I definitely want us to go in differently.. if this continues on offense I definitely expect ownership to interject themselves. I can't imagine we could get any lower on offense. That Colts game was rock bottom, and to be honest listening to Patricia and judge talk is so difficult. Imagine how mac must feel! I think they are good coaches, but poor communicators.

Pedestrian? Last season Mac was able to have the success from McDaniels offense. We looked like an actual offense last season. The issues being reported from the raiders organization is the players don't want the patriots culture there they claim McDaniels is trying to be like BB. Lot's of in fighting in the raiders locker room.

I agree with you about Patricia.

BUT...

When you look around the league and see offenses run by these masterminds (i.e. McVay, Shanahan, Taylor, etc.) you can see how McDaniels did not suck at all as an OC.

Now, I don't think he's coming back, but when you see the struggles around the NFL except for just a few teams, an easy argument is made that the grass is not always greener.

Sure, we look at Miami, but they invested in 2 stud WRs.

Both statements are spot on! Agreed with you Both. As I mentioned myself, if you listen to Patricia and judge speak, your head is left spinning. Imagine how mac or anyone on offense must feel. Of course BB is aware of this. That's the issue Mac is confused he didn't just wake up and forget how to run an offense and play ball. It is the COACHING or lack there of..

Patricia, senior football advisor, O line coach, offensive play caller.

Judge, offensive assistant, quarterback backs coach. These guys may be good coaches somehow ,but they are poor communicators.

The 2021 offense seemed Mac Jones friendly.

The 2022 offense appears to be Mac’s worst nightmare & Patricia sure doesn’t help.
The explanation is that last season Jones was in a Game Manager dink and dunk offense designed to protect him. Safe passing plays, an emphasis on the run and playing stout defense. When the 2021 NE run game and defense started to show cracks, the Alabama QB behind the curtain was exposed. If the opponent jumps out to a substantial lead, the Pats are screwed. We saw a glimpse of what the future held for the Pats when Jones tried to draw TD first blood when he aired it out to Agahlor vs the Bills.

Forward to 2022 where the Pats have been allowing Jones to throw like the big kids. It has been a freaking disaster. We are lucky that Jones only has 7 INTs to date. Do not blame the person throwing the ball though because its Patricia's fault and the OL fault. At times Jones looks exactly like Drew Bledsoe and when you think about it, the past has repeated itself. A whole list of people were blamed because Bledsoe played like axx too.

You will all see next season that Cam Jones is not a franchise QB.

A trade?

Even up Jones for Carr.

Hmmm, I saw mac take plenty of deep throws last season. The offense showed the ability to function, spacing, creativity, trick plays at times to keep the defense off balance.

This season.. oh wait ✋️ let me see that offensive coordinator left , and a defensive coordinator was hired to replace him.

This isn't 1950s NFL..

That's something to think about, only if we can include McDaniels in the trade to come back as offensive consultant like he did a few seasons ago.. dabol and Flores the most successful coaches to ever leave the BB tree..

Hard to say honestly atm. Don’t think I would like to see him back for a few reasons. He left 2 times almost a 3rd and then took however many with him…letting him back in says what about the person wanting him back. I think he did burn that bridge this last time so not tooooo worried about him coming back. Second reason is it would be nice seeing something else be successful here. Something different. Got a little too vanilla at times for my liking. Jet sweep whaaaaaa?

Dabol is successful because Josh Allen is a real good QB. Top 5 easy. He still has to win something with Jones.

Cam Jones looked great vs the worst teams in 2021.

Real NFL QBs today can throw deep and register more TDs than INTs.

Mahomes 25 TDs - 7 INTs
Allen 20 TDs - 10 INTs
Tua 18 TDs - 3 INTs
Burrow 18 TDs - 6 INTs
Jackson 16 TDs - 6 INTs

Your boy Cam 3 TDs - 7 INTs.

Let's see here:

Mahomes in 2021- hill and kelce
Allen in 2022- Diggs
Burrow in 2021- 2022 chase and Higgins,
Jackson in 2021- Mark Andrews and Hollywood brown

Show me anyone on the 2021 or 2022 patriots roster that has the talent the above aforementioned qbs have to throw to!

My whole point is Mac's year 2 progression has been stunted, he wasn't making these mistakes last season.. His defensive coordinator, sorry offensive play caller has no creativity, no spacing, no ingenuity into the offense scheme, all this spells disaster for any qb..

Mac is the best option going forward, let Thornton continue to get burn, hope n pray the offensive line can actually protect, however I'm sure your boy Matty p has a master plan for it all.

Sucks for Josh. I read today that it looks like he’s lost the locker room, and once gone, it’s tough to get it back.

They lost a bunch of heartbreakers early in the year. I imagine if they had won a few of them it could have led to a much different buy in from the team.

I wonder how he approached the Raiders job. We heard the stories how in Denver he was an ***hole and ***holes are only kept around when they win. We saw the same with Patricia and Judge. I wonder if Josh never learned from his past mistakes and is trying to be BB in Vegas.
NO coach can survive long without winning or at least improving. Being an assh*le or not has nothing to do with it. If you can give your team game plans that work consistently, you will "win" your locker room. Understand they don't necessarily have to translate into wins, but rather in those losses the team understands WHY they lost. (TO's, lack of execution at key points in the game, penalties, etc). So you can keep the locker room while you LEARN to win

I HATED Josh's choice of LV. Not a great city to raise a young family. Not a great owner, and a top heavy roster that you have inherited with a TON of bad draft picks the last few years.

BTW- My best guess on why Josh got such a ringing endorsement from Chucky Jr is simply money. Relatively speaking. Mark Davis is NOT rich. He is paying Chuck Sr. a TON of money not to coach, he doesn't want to play even more to Josh to coach for another team. So as much as I would love to see him back, it isn't going to happen. Josh will get another year to turn this around.

I'm not a MIT graduate or rocket engineer at NASA, however what my eyes have shown me is under a real offensive player caller Mac adapted to the NFL and brung his team to the playoffs

Under the defensive coordinator, I mean offensive line coach, sorry I meant senior football advisor he's regressed!!!!!

From what I can see all that baby fat Mac lost has impacted him not Just taking impact but his arm actually looks weaker.
Mechanics are all over the place. He is quicker on his feet than Tom Bailey or Jimmy. But he is very slow to set his feet and throw the ball.
He is not trusting what he sees on the field and his pocket awareness has dipped.
Now it’s quite possible all of these issues are due to bad coaching but we need to figure this out pronto.
