You seem upset about the fact that MJ is the only QB on the roster with a win against a team with a winning record. Not sure why that angers you so much, but this is expected of your QB1.
One thing is for sure. If they don’t fix this o-line, neither QB will be good. Not a lot of Lion’s or Browns’ quality defenses left on the Patriots ‘ schedule.
If Belichick truly thought Zappe was better, he would be starting Zappe. That is a simple fact. Zappe will get back in only if Jones plays himself out of the starting job. He didn’t today.
Well there is a thing called ''the second year jinx'' where a player that was good in his first year regreses only to bounce back in their third year. I think that happened with Josh Allen
Mac showed zero pocket awareness or pocket presence. He needs to perform a LOT better before I'd call him 'good'.
Sure you can say that the OL didn't do him any favors, but he has to know where the pressure is coming from and either dump it off quicker or throw it away to the sidelines to avoid losing yardage if there's no play to be had.
6 red zone opportunities, only 1 TD. That's a 16.7% TD conversion rate. That by definition is BRUTAL offensive efficiency.
We're just lucky that Nick Folk never misses kicks under 50 yards and the defense showed up with their A game today.
Macs still working his way back, that Jets front is ferocious, offensive line failed miserably today they all were bad! Mac was money converting those tough 3rd down passes.. however defense played lights out and we should have had 30 plus points up.. I'm still in awe hunter Henry has just disappeared from this offense.. that can't be " what's best for the team"
However a win is a win, hope it can continue next week heading into the bye...
MJ is the only QB on the roster with a win against a team with a winning record. Not just that, but a team with the best defense in the league. On the road, no less, while injured.
I don't think anyone can say this. Did you see Wilson?? That's no awareness.
Mac was struggling with a weakened OL against one of the top DL in the league. We've seen him move around in the pocket a lot - which was one of his big strengths that all pundits praised him for last year as a rookie.
Remember - he's been out of football for 5 weeks (last week 3 quick series doesn't even count as playing).
The OL is missing Andrews and struggling with Wynn/Cannon - and today Strange & Ferentz.
McCourty riled up a lot of Patriot fans when he called them spoiled this week.
But... he was half right. A significant portion of this fandom has unrealistic expectations when it comes to the QB position. Look around the league. If there a bunch of young QBs ooking great, then OK by comparison Mac would look poor.
But that's not happening.
If 5 years ago I would've told you that the Commanders and Jets would take Cousins and Geno Smith back in a heartbeat over what they have, then you'd tell me I'm crazy.

Ehhhhh. Your context is too narrow. If you look at the entire year, not just this game, and re Mac take into account to the latter part of last year, and examine the facts, there is no question Zappe has outplayed Mac over that period. I agree Mac did not disqualify himself today, but I believe even more firmly that he certainly did not EARN the job today. Our difference may be a matter of emphasis, I suppose, but there's a difference.

I have never seen a QB fall part when he is pressured like Wilson. Seriously, you get him off his spot and usually the best results the Jets can hope for is him throwing the ball out of bounds.

I'm not sure that's true. He might see more potential in Mac and the only way to get there is to continue to work through the garbage plays knowing that next year(s) could be better. This is contrasted with Bill's winning mentality but the first 4 games of the year were preseason to him so maybe that has changed. I would think Wynn and Harry would be examples of playing potential vs. playing only to win.

Very happy to get a win. Never take that for granted. Weve now won 3 out of 4.
Defense was outstanding. Predicted bb vs Wilson was a good matchup. Judon is amazing and team mvp, just praying he doesn’t burn out again. We are missing barmore and dugger quite bad still.
Now THATS the special teams performance we need. Incredible day. Two kr inside the 20. Jack jones influenced the missed fg with pressure. Big return by marcus. Bailey should have had 2 inside the 10 if the last one wasn’t blown. Folk was money with some long ones.
Mac…. Wasnt as horrid as last week i guess but he has a long way to go. Still in September mode. Good stretches and then a terrible decision. The pick 6 called back was awful and couldve lost us the game. Bailed out by a dumb hit by the jets defender. The fumble he was lucky we recovered. His awareness is just poor right now, dunno if that’s fixable? He needs a better game next week at home, if the struggles continue itll be interesting how long before we make the switch.
A little concerned over the run game. Other than 2 big runs by rham they haven’t been to good the last few weeks. Need more consistency there too and less penalties on the ol of course.
The only wr who did anything was meyers. Te’s again invisible. We need to be alot better on offense everywhere. As we saw last week the defense wont carry us every time out.
Anyway biggest plus is appears to be no injuries i can remember. Onto indy, thats a big one here especially getting the jets again. Good opportunity for 6-4 heading into thanksgiving which would be awesome!
Edit: Parker left early so not completely free of injury. hope hes ok
