Coming off, in my opinion, one of the most disappointing losses in recent memory, we look ahead against the Jets. What a difference 12 hours can make. This team needs to play better on offense, defense and special teams. We also need to play with emotion. There seemed to be something "lacking" against the Bears. We also need to coach better.

I would expect Mac to be our starter this week. Whether it's Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson and now Justin Fields, it seems we have problems playing/containing/rushing QB's with mobility.

It's a short week. Hopefully, Barmore will be back and Dugger can play. We're just a totally different defense without those two.

Let's discuss.

I agree it should be Mac… I am curious what the Jets offense looks like without Breece Hall. Theoretically it should be pretty poor. The Jets defense is pretty decent though, if the Pats struggled against the Bears then this isn’t going to be any easier.

Mac starting really Top 5 pick here we come.
I'm not ready to go there. Did he look good in his 3 series, no, was the offense clicking, no, we're going to have to give him more time though. It certainly didn't help that Trent Brown played the worst game of his career. All around, just a horrible performance. Even last year against Buffalo in the playoffs, I could accept it more, Buffalo was a better team and we kind of overachieved. This was an absolute head scratcher.

Zach Wilson has been stinking in multiple games since being drafted. I expect us to make him have another stinker. Maybe he'll get pulled before the half.

Clearly a must win game if we want anything to play for this year.

I liked the matchup with Wilson but hafta see the status of barmore/dugger first… defense is lost without them .

If Mac starts it should only be at 100% and were not playing hot potato at qb. Trent brown needs to shake wynn syndrome and whoever is probably filling in for andrews this week has to perform.

Special teams needs to be better. Bailey is very overpaid at the moment, I believe he is dead last in net yards at 35.4(https://www.footballdb.com/statistics/nfl/player-stats/punting?sort=puntnet ). We need some plays from the return game.

Winnable game, but should be tough. Good chance to see what the team’s made of if we can rally to victory

Mac should never have started yesterday. Perhaps the coaching staff thought this would be an easy game for Mac to get back into the groove of things, and if so, it backfired big time. If Mac is healthy, he should get the start. But he didn't look healthy yesterday. Give him a few more weeks of rest if he needs it.

I know the Jets have been playing pretty good but it's really the only thing that can cure this. Must beat the Jets. I'm shrugging off last night as due to injuries. And hopefully we can get a little more healthy by next week.

I Guess the sky is falling fans were right about the cast of characters or misfits around Mac. But the in BBWT fans didn't want to acknowledge it. I would hate to be Mac right now he might be officially ruined. There is nothing like a bruised ego. HC/GM BB sat on his hands last FA and here are the results a Defense that suffers boy they stink especially at LB its going be a long season. I mean Justin Fields just tore us a new one we are facing much better QB's down the road.

If BB is to be believed the plan was to give Mac a few series and turn things over to Zappe. BB has always taken the long view, even if things look really bad. The likely objective was to test his ability to perform when not 100%.

If replacing Mac after a few series was the plan, then why did he look supremely pissed after being benched?

The one positive is it doesn’t appear he suffered a setback or anything with the ankle. Best thing would be is let zappe start until that ankle is clearly 100% and go from there, even if he sits until the bye week. Really bad decision to bring him back yesterday , but at least with the way our defense played it didn’t matter results wise.

Mac's ankle wasn't the problem (he was the team's leading rusher going into the 4th quarter). His decision-making was.
