Report: Brady and Gisele are Divorcing

Those words don't even remotely say what you are interpreting them as saying.
Again, we absolutely know he retired, and absolutely know he un-retired. If you want to run with the notion that those comments aren't remotely related to him not being able to follow through on retiring, go for it, you are free to delude yourself any way you want to.

Post 80. Impressive. You may catch Pork, who definitely will not be doing anything outside anytime soon.

Things could be worse. He could be living in Jacksonville and working for a utility company.

Neither you nor I have the first clue what would have happened to the marriage if he never retired in the first place, or if he would have stayed retired. Your arrogance that you believe you know everything going on behind the scenes (based on reading a couple lame page 6 articles) is laughable.

This is an incredibly asinine post. I don't want to get into the off field stuff, because for the most part I just don't care, but how is Brady hurting his legacy there? Because he's getting divorced? Not uncommon. And it's entirely ridiculous all of the wheel-spinning as to why their marriage crumbled... bottom line is only two people really know what happened in their relationship and I'll guarantee you that even their own individual perspectives aren't the same so I'm certainly not going to give any credence to public speculation. It's just a feeding frenzy for all of the haters to spin it in an unfavorable light for Brady, which frankly is pathetic.

The on field knock to his legacy is even more ridiculous. Brady has been wildly successful in a Bucs uniform. Won a Super Bowl. NFL MVP runner-up. 96 TD passes in 2020 and 2021. This season he's top 5 in multiple passing categories. He's not having a bad season at all. It's week 7. This happens almost every season since around 2014... the detractors start throwing dirt on Brady's grave in September and October if things aren't going perfectly. He proves them wrong every single time and yet they keep coming back for more. So stick with your take... Brady's washed and he's hurting his legacy... and we'll see how it holds by the end of the season. I'm guessing not well.
Cry about it all you want. I guess the articles that keep popping up in my feed saying Brady’s legacy is taking a bit of a hit are just in my imagination. Stomp your feet and bring out your stats but generally speaking, Tom did a very good job marketing himself as a certain type of guy and it’s all unraveling a bit now. You can’t control public perception. Plenty of people still think he’s a cheater as well. You can either hysterically bring out your stats and studies or you can realize that you can’t control the public perception. And he has a taken a hit.

Man I'm getting a lot of ChiefsPlanet/Gangreen vibes from the "rEAL pATriOTS" fans

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.................. you have lameass mediots who have made entire careers about badmouthing Tom Brady saying his legacy has taken a hit. Well then it must be true!!!

Let me guess.... Chris Simms said something bad about Tom Brady, so that's the evidence you have, huh?

What "certain type of guy" did Brady market himself as that has taken a hit?

Newsflash: You can be a good person and still get divorced.
You can’t control public perception. Plenty of people still think he’s a cheater as well.
If you have to go back almost 10 years to support your arguments in this discussion, well.... that just shows how weak your arguments really are.
And he has a taken a hit.
The only people he has "taken a hit" from are the irrational haters who are going to hate on him no matter what.

It is hilarious how they have all fallen back on the same idiocy we have seen from Chiefs/Steelers/Raiders/Colts fans for the past 20 years.

I think it'll change once he's truly retired.

Boston Fandom is a weird one

Tom can worry about the public's perception if he wants. I really don't care about it. He's getting divorced, only he and Giselle know why, and they won't even tell you the same thing.

Those that say he's a cheater go there only because they can't find anything creditably bad to say about him as a player. His football legacy is cemented already... he's the greatest player in NFL history... he can only add to it now. That doesn't change because of what a very small percentage of pundits may say about his 2022 season.

I’ll tell you where he took a hit with me.

The Tom Brady I know would not have missed a walkthrough before a game for a wedding no less, then showed up, played poorly and then start screaming at everyone else like its their fault. Tha fact is, he is above the rules now. I remember the days it was about the team and no one was above the team. Well, he clearly is and what’s worse, he still feels like he can scream at everyone else about how badly they’re playing while neglecting to look in the mirror at the guy who was not even present with the team before the game.

The truth is the “irrational haters” as you like to call them make up an awfully large portion of the population. Like nearly all of it. They don’t all hate him but they definitely don’t worship him the way some of you do.

Great, you totally step away from addressing the point being discussed, that his public comments he chose to make on his podcast are related to him not being able to follow through on retiring, and chose to venture off on hypotheticals and attack me as well. Par for the course.

The odd thing is he chose this path over walking away when he was still widely respected. He was given the chance to look at the bigger picture and take a different path, but, nope, he chose to do "what he''s always done".

Brady is a different guy now that Bill isn't around. The real Brady is showing up in Tampa. In NE, Bill was in charge and you would hardly see Brady running up to an opposing coach to tell him to F off, kicking his opponents, etc. In Tampa, Brady (not Arians or Bowles) is top dog. So Brady can pretty much do whatever he wants now.

edit: We saw glimpses of this douche-type behavior in New England. Remember how poorly he treated the two ball boys and later acted nice to them when the whole deflategate thing blew up?

It'll also be interesting to see how his behavior changes going forward with a lot less input from Gisele. Personally, I think we'll see a lot more of his "competitiveness" going forward.

Who cares about the supposed worshipping? These are FACTS about Brady:

1. Greatest QB in the history of the NFL.
2. Greatest player in the history of the NFL.
3. Most regular season and postseason wins in the history of the NFL.
4. Most Super Bowl rings and MVPs in the history of the NFL.
5. NFL records that are too numerous to even start mentioning.

Perception can't change these things.

Who cares about perception? Clearly you do or you wouldn’t fly off the handle with stats at the ready when someone points out that there is a lot of talk whether in video or in print about how Brady is coming apart at the seams lately and is maybe behaving in some questionable ways. The existence of these articles and video segments is as much a fact as anything you’ve listed.

Right, Brady's so different that he's still winning divisions, playoff games and Super Bowls without Belichick. Still waiting for Belichick to do anything, seriously anything at all, as a head coach without Brady. No division titles and one measly playoff win 25 years ago. WTF!?... why is Belichick such a loser head coach without Brady?

See bolded part. And why did the supposed greatest player in NFL history F up against the Giants in the most important game of his life? You know, the one where he laughed at the Giants D…

Yeah, for the 100th time, Brady did it with an incredibly talented cast of players including Evans, Gronk, Godwin, Jensen, Fournette, Brown, Marpet, Wirfs, David, White, and Vea. And without Gronk, Brown, Jensen, and a gimpy Godwin, he's not doing so great this year...see how that works?

In today's world you can pull up whatever jagged opinion from whoever on whatever topic you want. Somethings are part of an objective reality regardless of opinion or perception. That's my point. So again...

You're a prime example of a jagged opinion.

Funny how you didn't (or can't) defend Belichick's putrid head coaching career without Brady.

If only you could just not see posts from people in a given thread who don't meet your own personal standards.... Wait, there's a MUTE button on the top of each of their posts!

If only you could just not see a given thread at all... Wait, there's an "Ignore" button on the top of each page of every thread!

If only you could just not see any posts from an individual user ever again... Wait, you can just click on their avatar and click on the "Ignore" button!

If you can manage to log into the site, you can manage to do these things.

If you prefer instead to make willy-waving statements about who is a real fan or not, that's all on you.

Maybe you'd prefer a Buccaneers forum?

As Gisele said, follow your joy!
