By the numbers: Patricia's offense downright offensive

I think you have to and just protect the ball a little better. I mean Agholar had another one today so it's more than just the aggressive style they were playing earlier. As much as I like this years version of Agholars compared to last he needs to protect the ball. Bourne had a bunch of boneheaded snaps himself today too.
I've officially given up on Agholar and wish him well with the Bears or whoever.

This is what Agholar has always been….dating back to the Eagles.

Good news is, his contract is up this year so he won’t be back.

Question is, can they get anyone to take on his salary in a trade this season? Raiders wouldn’t be players… not sure who else might.

It's crazy. Right now the only thing we can count on is Meyers. Shame on all of you who aren't/weren't on his bandwagon you know who you are.

After that I have the least worries in Parker but he's been up and down. I choose to believe he had his breakout game and just went quiet again due to a 3rd string Q.

Either way these 2 are the starters.

After that:
I'd be more willing to push Agholar down the depth chart if Bourne would step up but two penalties, lining up in the wrong spot, and arguing with Bill and now everyone is starting to see that his issues are his own. Bills comments in the media after the game could indicate Bill still thinks he can get right but let's wait and see.

If one or both of these guys can't get their crap together we move forward with Humphrey and Ty rounding out the group. And to be honest just because of Ty's upside and speed I'm almost ready just to have Meyers, Parker, TY, and Humphrey carry the load.

I stress almost because we're still going to need something out of Agholar and/or Bourne.

Thought the gameplan was great again. Setting up a rookie QB with an offensive gameplan on his first NFL start is not easy and thought the coaching staff did a great job. That designed QB run on 3rd down to outside was probably the only play that was a head scratcher... however, they did pick up yards and wasn't a disaster

The coaches are undoubtedly looking at the same thing we are. The players who are making mistakes (penalties/turnovers) are getting pulled from the game and replaced with players that buy in: Bourne, Agohlor, Wynn etc..

My hope is that going forward we can run with Meyers, Parker, Thornton with Agohlor mixed in. I really do like Bourne but theres clearly something going on with his attitude this year.

I believe they called a few plays, and I think this was one, that they wouldn't have called if they had 2 running backs. Same thing with that Bourne screen that got blown up. They probably go draw play on both if Harris is healthy.

Good point.

On the flip side, look at Raiders playcalling at the end of the game

Patricia's offense only scored 22 points last game. So he's not off the hotseat yet. Redzone efficiency was also quite poor, resulting on FGs far more often than touchdowns. Let's face it, he's not cut out to be a full time offensive coordinator. We need to hire a professional for that position.

I've heard this same stuff from the Boston talking heads.

They went conservative. Rookies first start. But not only that, they went up a few scores and became even more conservative. They're not taking risks there.

First off they did that with a 3rd string Q.

Second I'll defend BB as hard as anyone and I'm still not sure if this is going to work but I think they've more than proven that they were more than qualified for it and more capable than most who get hired. Will it ultimately be enough to be considered successful or one of the best by whatever measures you choose to use still remains to be seen.

Yup. After the 5th drive w/ 4 FGs inside the red area, the wunderkind knew at the DET 24 if he went inside the 20, another FG, so he throws a bullet to Meyers for a TD. Perfect. The play calls inside the red area were predictable, uncreative and a failure: 1 yd gains, stuffed runs, passes behind LOS for losses or small gains. Just terrible.

Your distortion of events amazes me

Clearly. The opponent, matchups, and flow of the game dictate play calling. Not sure why some people don’t get this.
