NFL Week 6: Other Games

In terms of quality, this has been the worst season I can remember in a long time, maybe the late 90s when it was just Elway hanging around after the other greats retired?

We’re headed into week 6 and there’s about 3 or 4 teams that seem to have their **** together. I don’t know what the problem is. Perhaps some combination of shortened preseason, “wonder kid” coaches that aren’t any good, and abysmal quarterbacking.

Nailed it... Fewer pre-season games plus the lack of padded practices with contact is a Major reason for the Bad Football we've been seeing on prime time, along with the other correct reasons stated above.

In Week 14 against the New England Patriots, Akers rushed for 171 yards on 29 attempts which marked the sixth-most rushing yards by any NFL player in a single game during the 2020 season and fourth-most by a Rams rookie in a single game in franchise history.



He can play on passing downs as well. Caught 30 passes as senior at FSU.

Either that, or AJ wore out his fingers going toe-to-toe with Crawhammer (IIRC) right around that same time...

Just stating the obvious here but Justin Fields looks really bad. We've got a decent sample size now... 385 pass attempts... below 60% completion percentage, only 11 TDs and 15 INTs, and a 73.1 passer rating. That 2021 QB draft class is looking pretty bad so far but Fields may be the worst... just a smidge below Zach Wilson. Lawrence had a nice start to this season but he has followed that up with 7 turnovers in his last two games.

I think the most alarming stat for Fields is the sacks. He’s on pace for 65. I know he has no receivers and his OL can’t pass block but he also isn’t showing the escapability that he had at OSU. Mobile QBs are supposed to escape the rush they aren’t supposed to be sacked like he is.

Akers is average to above average but it’s glaringly obvious he isn’t the problem there. It’s their OL. Too bad they didn’t “reach” for Cold Strange.
