In other words, none of these players were better than TB12. Many did help the team as backups.Yes, however most of these guys sucked as players. They went on to succeed in different careers but most of these guys never helped the New England patriots win football games
Bruce Allen had a nice breakdown on the fact that most of the players drafted all have a pretty solid handle on the NFL:
In other words…none of these guys other than Matt Cassel & Jimmy G went on to become even average NFL Starters …Cassel and Jimmy G success with other teams were short lived given they were not physically talented quarterbacks and needed great offensive coaches (SF, KC) and great weapons to help them succeed on other teamsIn other words, none of these players were better than TB12. Many did help the team as backups.
Staff. BB’s coaching tree is made up of his minions Mangina, Mcdaniels, Flores , Judge and Matty P who failed miserably at other programsAre Kingsbury and O’Connell considered part of BB’s “coaching tree” when that’s being discussed? Or is the coaching tree just those who coached on his staff?
Hopefully Brissett validates that statement next Sunday by playing below the level of an average NFL starting QB.In other words…none of these guys other than Matt Cassel & Jimmy G went on to become even average NFL Starters …Cassel and Jimmy G success with other teams were short lived given they were not physically talented quarterbacks and needed great offensive coaches (SF, KC) and great weapons to help them succeed on other teams
We all know what he is. A career backup who is a placeholder for Deshaun WatsonHopefully Bridgett validates that statement next Sunday by playing below the level of an average NFL starting QB.
You said none of these QBs added value to the Pats. I don't agree, sorry. In other words…none of these guys other than Matt Cassel & Jimmy G went on to become even average NFL Starters …Cassel and Jimmy G success with other teams were short lived given they were not physically talented quarterbacks and needed great offensive coaches (SF, KC) and great weapons to help them succeed on other teams
Mac is definitely the best quarterback we drafted since Brady and he has the goods to succeed if we provide him with better weapons

Rohan Davey, Kevin O'Connell and Ryan Mallett were worthless picks. You can also make a case for Jimmy G as well. You said none of these QBs added value to the Pats. I don't agree, sorry.
One should imagine a similar breakdown of WR's would show... a breakdown
Kind of a low barIn other words, none of these players were better than TB12. Many did help the team as backups.
My thoughts. Interesting thread but how many of these guys have actually helped the New England patriots as players ?Isn't the NFL draft for players and not potential coaches?
