OT Panthers fire HC

DJ Moore and CMC should be on the block. They need a total rebuild and to bottom out for a top pick.

Who do you think the Panthers should go afterb

My bet is on one of Sean Payton, Bill Cowher, Jimmie Johnson, Mike Ditka or Marv Levy.

Brady as the QB, HC and Part Owner.

Dude, come on... did you copy and paste a post from 20 years ago? Payton is the only realistic choice on that list... The rest?

Jimmy Johnson will be 80 next year
Bill cowher hasn't coached in 16 years
mike ditka??? Wtf ... He's 82 and practically senile
Marv levy is literally 97 years old...

Five games too late.

I just never understood this HC signing. He basically had one very good year at Baylor, so Carolina gave him 7 years, $60 million. It made no sense to me whatsoever.

That’s like three times better than the resume of Kilff Kingsbury.

oh, I remain baffled by that hiring too. Kingsbury was hired during the strange period where anyone who had a cup of coffee with Sean McVay was given suitcases full of money.

We've all seen coaches go from college to the pros, but Kingsbury is the only example I can think of where the guy was fired from his college job, then was an NFL HC the very next year.

Trigger happy owner with a team that's largely devoid of talent, and built around a player made of gossamer. Would-be head coaches should be all about saying "Thanks, but no thanks" to the job.

Ok ok

How about Bud Grant instead?

Even though rhule was a bad head coach, I think he could be an excellent offensive coordinator and a better option than fat Matt or judge.

As if 11-27 isn't bad enough, Rhule went 3-16 since last October. Doesn't take a rocket surgeon to see that trend. He needed to at least show a hint of hitting some gains with Mayfield under center but it's been more of the same.

They lost a game at home last year to a struggling Fecals team against whom they had no business losing... Both franchises have gone in completely opposite directions since then...

Yeah, college head coaches can be little lords of the manor. It's a sweet gig.

Rich Eisen speculated the sacking happened this early in the season to secure Sean Payton. I suppose if Carolina does end up with the number one overall (or at least top 3) pick then Payton can select his QB and ride with him for the future. Question is would Payton want to be back in the NFC South? Would he not want to be in a different division/conference. We know the Carolina owner can open his cheque book and write the financial demands Payton would demand.

At least if Carolina do finish first overall it means the Patriots would get the 65th overall (first selection in round three) from the Panthers.

The Saints still have Sean Payton's rights, so it's gonna take some serious draft capital to compensate them.

Seems the standard is one first round pick ala Parcells, BB, Gruden.

Probably more since NO and CAR are in the same division.

So, I guess a sell off of talent is inevitable, and an oft-injured guy like CMC doesn't figure well in a rebuild cycle.

Brady as the QB, HC and Part Owner.
Without Gisele's money he's not a serious contender for ownership.

Maybe he can buy shares of Green Bay?

Or maybe he can hook up with an even richer woman?
