The Pats babied Mac through much of his rookie season. What Zappe did today was the same thing Mac was being praised for early last season with a better coordinator.

He needs to (and I fully expect he will) calm down a bit and play within his strengths. Once he does we're going to look awesome and make some noise.

If you're referring to the end zone interception, that was on Parker not sight-adjusting his route for cover-4 -- not on Mac. Mac's under pressure compensating for a new offense/new OC and new personnel, not "demonstrating a year-two leap." Things would be relatively seamless for him had McDaniels returned. He DOES need to calm down, though, with better buy-in to what Patricia has laid out.

Amazing to think that Zappe now has more game experience than Jimmy G did when we traded him.

Zappe didn't win the game but managed it well, that's what they asked from him. If the D plays like today all year that's all the QB's have to do, don't turn the ball over and don't try anything stupid.

I like Zappe. He’s Joe cool and reminds me of when Brady started out.I like how he stood in the blitz and completed a pass. If he continues to I improve I say ride it out with Zappe so we get everything smoothed out in time to beat Buffalo rather than switch horses again. Mac got the rug pulled out on him with the coaching and system changes and he’s not handling it well.
