He has the look of a guy that can be legitimately good. He is the first QB i’ve seen in a Patriot uniform since Brady left that causes me concern. Methodical, decisive, smart.

I know it’s just my opinion (which isn’t worth much), but I think you guys may be on to something!

You’re fun. Most def one of my fav posters for entertainment.

But hold the duckboats. This dude was third string of a bad team. I hope I’m wrong, but hitting on this guy after hitting on Brady : super unlikely.

Josh Allen is a poor man's Zappe.

Zappe has the look of a career back up.......nice effort today, he's a gamer, but he's not an NFL starter, either

I like what I have seen of Zappe. My biggest issue with Jones isn’t his arm, it’s how long he holds the ball. I don’t see any difference in their arm strength, but Zappe gets rid of the ball quicker, and as long as the decisions are good that’s a big advantage. If he continues to improve he will push Jones for the job, and that’s great for everyone.

I doubt he’ll be better than Mac but he looked good today.

He’s already the best back up since Matt Cassel as he’s finished two games without getting yanked out after a few drives like Hoyer and Stidum. Jimmy would’ve been above Zappe, but he barely played in NE.

He seems like he locks on to his first target and waits too long to look at his next option.

Bailey Zappe has thrown for more yards, as many tds and 3 less ints in 2 games than Jarrett Stidham did in his three years here

I don’t know if he’s going to be better or not, but I like that he gets rid of the ball quickly, and that Jones has competition for the position,
That and some throws on the run - step up, move lateral, keep looking at your progressions. He did a few on the move dumps that seemed a bit beyond what you should get from a rookie small-school guy. And he avoided the cross-body against the grain stuff that can kill you.

IF he's seen by BB as good enough to continue - to let Mac truly heal - it's going to be interesting in a few weeks. Say he goes 3-0, with solid numbers and limited mental errors. What happens then? Once BB went with the hot hand - does he do it again? I am not saying we have the next one - that was a generational talent. But a QB that is efficient and doesn't throw the heart-breaking int is more than enough. Especially if the run game continues to shine.

God I love this game! The winning, the uncertainty, the potential - it's just awesome!

Apparently you saw little of Mac Jones last season. If seven quarters of Zappe (including four vs. the Lions) concern you by comparison, you have no clue what to look for.

Spot on.

Garropollo, Brissett would like to have a word with you

We will get a better look-see at what Zappe brings vs the Browns...
You think Mac is going to let him start that game? As we speak, he's on the phone with Giselle trying to get a hold of some magic beads and sage.

I dont think Mac can move well enough to play... But, it might actually benefit Mac to play a bit hobbled like that though... might teach him to step up into the pocket and get rid of the ball faster instead of holding onto it and rolling out
