Several of the above teams play one another over the next few weeks as well, and the Pats play a few as well as some of their peers who are also 2-3 with them so they definitely have a pretty decent shot at getting back into a wild card spot if they keep playing well.

Matt Patricia with another masterful game as a play caller. 29 points despite the huge limitation placed on him after the injury to MJ. He called an absolutely beautiful game, as usual.
About "wasting a pick" on Zappe? I bet one of our local draft geniuses did. That said, if Mac comes back with a fire in his belly, last year's good draft might stay good too, but would leave our vaunted coaching staff with a good problem to have.

Alright, it was a win - and I'm thrilled. But also some objective thought is needed.
1. This doesn't mean Zappe is better than Mac. He was clearly handcuffed, because the playcalls in the RZ were terrible. Because they won't let Zappe throw down there. So that's why all the surrenders for FG's. But we can't be as bad on 3rd down going against good teams.
2. Zappe did what he was supposed to - vs. the league WORST defense with 4 top DB's out. So temper expectations. If you think a gimpy Mac couldn't have put up those stats today, you're blind.
3. Defense looked good. That translates. It's as much Goff's continued ghosts of facing Pats than the talent or game plan. But hey, they executed and did it.
4. Meyers is the #1 WR, and has been for the last 3 years, just get used to it.
5. Rham is a beast and has taken over (we do need a backup RB quick though)
6. Great to see Zappe get the ball to Henry. Hopefully this cracks that barrier going forward.
