Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Packers beat the Pats

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

I wasn't able to watch the game. Did Zappe throw an interception during the game?

Nope. Pocket presence was rough. He took sacks instead of INT's. Good performance from him given the circumstances

He didn't, a few close calls, but most of the passes were short and not of a high degree of difficulty.

  • The special teams is night and day from last year. Obviously Jake Bailey is healthy again and back into his All Pro form. Marcus Jones is a very good returner. Schooner made an excellent tackle with a questionable horse collar tackle call. Would have been a huge tackle otherwise. Special teams was a liability last year. This year it has been an asset.
You must have watched a different game than I did. Bailey was bad yesterday. Three punts into the end zone and one badly shanked when they needed to boom it. Not to mention the penalties by the ST unit.

The punt and kick returns were good and the horse collar call was BSbut that's about it.

Jack Jones preseason:

7 targets
2 receptions
18 yards
0 TDs
0 INTs
39.6 rating

regular season:

11 targets
6 receptions
86 yards
0 TDs
1 INTs
42.2 rating
PFF’s #1 CB in coverage

In addition to a pick 6 & a forced fumble he ran a deep route for Doubs yesterday. Most of the yards he gave up was a contested catch to Hill vs. the dolphins.

His natural coverage ability & break on the ball is of a high pick so far. He’s going to be a steal.

I thought he was the Best pick of our entire 2022 Draft class I like him better than Marcus. That said we have the CB situation settled now we NEED some Young Fast Instinctive LB's.

No player can grab the jersey at the NAME PLATE or above and pull a player to the ground.

You are thinking a "horse collar" has to be a player grabbing inside the collar and pulling a player to the ground. That is not the actual rule as it is written. The jersey was grabbed at the name plate and the player was pulled to the ground. No debate it was the correct call.

Funny how some fans are crying about that and not mentioning the egregious delay of game penalty that wasn't called. The clock was at zero for 2 seconds and no call. This handed the Pats a touchdown. I don't cry about refs, so I only bring it up here to show the hypocrisy of some here.

I have not seen a fan base cry about the refs more than I have seen in this forum this morning. I expect this from Vikings fans, but didn't think Pats fans were that way. You know who cries about refs/officials? Losers!

It was a enjoyable game to be at. I'm sure it was fun to view on TV. I will watch the TV copy later today when I get time.

He grabbed him a few inches below the nameplate - bad call. It think GB scored on that drive which started around midfield as a result.

As far as the delay of game, the back judge put more time on the play clock but it wasn't showing on the clock we see on TV - a communications mistake. You could see him explaining that to the referee after the play. It was obvious the clock was down to 5 way too fast, it wasn't started at the right moment.

Also, they called PI on the Pats in OT on 3rd down, borderline ticky-tack call on the winning drive, but missed the same call against the Packers on the biggest play of the game, the 3rd and 5 from the GB 45 in OT.

What a block here by Trent Brown:

Trent Brown have been a Beast @ LT both run blocking and pass protection: hope they move on permanently from that stiff Wynn.

Offensive and defensive snaps : The biggest takeaway is Cannon replacing Wynn and will we ever see Wynn again? On defense, I think we will get to the point where it's Mills, Jack Jones and Jonathan Jones as our top three corners with Marcus Jones as our 4th corner. We can't afford to have Myles Bryant out there any longer, he's just a liability.

How is lil Jordan getting so many snaps... He's just as bad a jonnu smith

Do you believe your own BS? Too funny. I rest my case on Pats fans crying about refs. Didn't realize it was to the extent of some other fan bases

Losers, eh? Did the Pats win or lose the game yesterday? I'll hang up and listen.

A word of advice, if I may.

There are lots of opposing fans that come on here, and like all visiting fans, there's a certain expectation in terms of respect.

I'd be wary about labelling the fan-base or being rude to other posters if you want your stay to last a while.

To answer your question, which bit of the nameplate is being held here?

I'm not sure after yesterday's performance if we will ever see Wynn on the field again in a Patriot uniform, barring any injury. This will be an interesting week though, especially if Cajuste is ready to go. No need to carry 4 OT on the 53, someone will have to go.

When you say go do you mean "Inactive"? Wynn is living up to something his game checks.
