Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Packers beat the Pats

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Don't really know how to feel. The loss doesn't hurt the way a loss normally hurts because I expected it to go even worse. However, that can't feel good because my expectations were so low to begin with for a reason. This team isn't going anywhere in 2022, this is a "house money" season where the best feeling we get to have is when we inconvenience a better team.

With all that in mind, our draft position went in the right direction today while delivering an entertaining game for the fans. Packers fans will be bickering for the next week about how the game could have been so close.

It's not as good as just winning a lot of games and being in contention for a Super Bowl, but I'm not feeling a blind rage like I do after all our Dolphins games.

In my view Zappe gets a B- or a C+. He did not do anything that really wows you. Obviously BB does not have much trust in him or there would have been a pass on 2nd and 5 in OT
Could not really expect much from him. He probably has had zero first team snaps in practice and just probably still not that familiar with the playbook.
If BB had more trust in him he would have started over Hoyer.

He did the best he could in the circumstances. Generally appeared to have pocket presence. Accuracy was off when on the move. And the last 2 series where he passed the ball showed that he doesn‘t quite know how to handle situations yet where none of his reads are open, including the outlet guy. Big question is if he can learn from that experience.

I prefer they lose going for the win than losing like they did playing scared trying not to lose. Imagine if Zappe had completed the pass for a 1st down.
This or what one of the other posters recommended was running it 4 times in a row.
I was hoping for a designed running play with Zappe on third down.
The offense was to vanilla at the 50 we had a chance to win the game.
My guess is Zappe didn’t get a lot of time running the game plan.

This week I hope to see improvements from Zappe.

I’m happy Zappe. Was a lot to put in his shoulders. He played well.
I don't remember which reporter it was during TC but they kept saying out of the three Mac, Hoyer and Zappe, Zappe looked the most comfortable running the offense. Let him have all the reps this week and let see what he can do next week. Hoyer is not it.

This is true. Their were days when Zappe looked better in wide-zone. IMO he should start next week if Mac can’t go.

I think BB was trying to protect Zappe the whole game and did not want to ask too much of him or shatter his confidence. It mostly worked.
The run game was dynamite and he tried to win it with runs rather than banking on an inexperienced first time playing rookie. makes sense. He is thinking long term

Bright Spot: Jack Jones - Defensive Star of the game.

Donkey Award: Matt Patricia - making gutless calls all day long and costing us the win in overtime.

You sir are the jackass.
Rookie qb. Never played a snap in the NFL
And I’m guessing you are in line for many OC jobs in the NFL

So you wanted Zappe to throw on 2nd down?

After all the success we had running the ball? Are you joking?

I think from this point forward Mac better bring his A game every single week or Zappe is nipping at his heels to put him on the bench… This kid showed a lot of composure in a very difficult situation and actually move the ball a lot better than Mac against tougher competition in a tougher environment….. Hope his ankle heals well so he can come back and prove himself

absolutely, GB was all over the same stretch run they were calling evry time after they ran up the middle on previous play.

The biggest frustration for me is Myles Bryant. I'm glad he's no longer returning kicks but wish I didn't see him in the slot any more. He's just not cutting it.

I thought I would never see the day where I disliked a player as much as I did Elandon Roberts, but Bryant is closely approaching that level.

The previous play that ran for 5 yards. Come on.

Averaged 5 yards per carry tonight. Run behind the left side of the line on 3rd down in OT and take your chances that you can gain 5 yds on the ground over two plays. I just knew that the Packers were going to score on that next drive, no matter how far they were pinned back. Our D was gassed.

He needs to go

Hopefully Mills gets back soon, he and Jack Jones can cover outside and Jonathan Jones can take the slot. And that Marcus Jones gets more defensive reps in practice to take over the dimeback role.
